At least he's not joining Woolwich (if Barca get their finances together that is).

With those statements Levy has once again set himself up to look like a complete fool. The transfers of the last 5 years or so has got us close to relegation but now all of sudden he means serious business? Come on..
When I watched the interview with the pair of them, my thoughts were that they were likely setting out their stall to attract a minority investment in the club.My assumption is that he's heard on the grapevine that certain players have not responded well to Ange's sacking eg Romero and Vicario. And this PR stunt was done to help sway the players into staying.
Liverpool just won the league buying players with wages of less than 150k a week. MacAllister, Nunez, Gravenberch, Gakpo - not one 'elite'
Woolwich bought players on 200k+ a week the last two seasons and won fek all.
Gravenberch was not elite when they bought him (for a bargain) from Bayern M (they must they sold him for "only" €40 million). He was long seen as a top talent at Ajax but seem to have stagnated at Bayern, but now showing his early promise...I’d say this season Gravenberch was elite and macsllister is close to elite tbf
That's possibly one of the better interviews Levy's ever given, but he always comes across as a bit of an awkward dweeb who's out of his depth. He just doesn't seem to really understand the football side of the business and really really needs to step the fuck away from it completely. He's done a fantastic job on the business and infrastructure, regardless of whether ENIC are going to ultimately benefit hugely from that, because we as a club will too for years. But the decisions he's been making on the football side have been really fucking poor for almost ten years now - and even in the previous ten there were some bad decisions too. He needs to understand his limitations and capabilities and get the fuck away from running the football side of the business now.
Venkatesham comes across a lot better, a lot slicker. I wonder if this was Levy introducing the guy who's going to step more across the football side of the business. I fucking hope so, because Levy needs to step the fuck away now before he completely fucks all his good non football work.
Doubt its true anyway.
Weren't we linked with him last summer?

Wrong
Levy wants us to win the PL and CL.
We need to make signings like this to back up that ambition

Hang on....So you mean Levy was blatantly lying to the fans yesterday when he talked about competing for the Prem and CL titles!!I'm not sure if your taking the piss here or not lol
We brought in Thomas Frank as our manager who's best known for working off a low budget. If we didn't back the likes of Conte and Mourinho with big money signings and matching the wages of top cubs, then you'll be very naive to think that this is going to be the plan under Frank.
I'll bet my life that we don't sign one player in this window who will be earning wages above 200k a week. That means that we can't compete with other big clubs when targetting these players. These are just facts. We might change some day but it won't be this summer! Frank will be giving 3/4 signings max and we'll be very lucky if 2 of them cost more than 50m.
But he’s said it. We are obliged to measure his actions and adjust our expectations against those words
