Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s obviously about comparing them to us in terms of transfer ambition. Just look at the way they acted to overtake us.

The willingness to spend top of the range amounts on total transfer cost for players like Van Dijk, Mane, Alisson and now Wirtz IS the difference. Maybe you can make the case that Salah would have been achievable for our model but the wage increases since and the top shelf players they’ve signed to build a winning team around him is sth Levy has NEVER done

Ahhh so now its total transfer cost.

Noted for next time the discussion comes around!

Yeah, fair point re Palace being able to ultimately accept what they want, but I still think it was pretty stupid of Eze's team to accept the one payment up front clause, as it gives Palace far more power. Pretty sure Eze would be somewhere else now if that clause wasn't there, as by all accounts Palace insisted on it last year.
The new deal he signed was only 3.5 years (to age 27) and got him to 100k/wk, and he's won Palace's first ever trophy and broken into the England team during that time, plus several clubs are now circling looking to activate that very clause.

I'd say Eze and his representation have done rather well.

Again, the contrasting situation that started this discussion was a 25 year old Kane signing a SIX-year deal with NO release clause with Daniel Levy at the beginning of a window in which Levy would self-impose a transfer embargo on the club. Now THAT was an agent making a mistake.

If Kane had signed Eze's deal in that moment he'd have been at Real Madrid before Covid hit.

Kudus scored 5 PL goals all season and had that heads off red card against us
As much as I like his dribbling and flashy play, I hope we dont end up spending north of 60m on him.

Semenyo for me , far more ruthless winger who would suit us

Them losing him works for me! :)

He's a total knob, though. Another reason it's not true.
you cant blame him, that place would make the most sane mental
