Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s more than just the style. Amorim apparently humiliated him infront of the rest of the team. You don’t do that unless it’s personal. He is a talented player, but not one we should pursue.

I agree, I do like him but we need players who are expected to deliver both goals and assists, not 3 and 4 but 10 plus in the league per season. That’s my biggest fear at the moment, we lost Kane, look like losing an ageing Son and we’ve not replaced them with anyone within a country mile of their output. We’ve lost the best part of a guaranteed 50 goals per season and brought in an injury prone Richarlison and a hard working but average Solanke, plus a good return but often MIA Johnson.

Yes get. Alls into the box, that’s what Ange liked. Johnson can’t do that and we need better than Solanke in the middle to get on the end of those crosses. I don’t think Mbeumo is all that great a crosser either.

Mbeumo is very direct, gets space, opens up an angle and instinctively shoots. You see the same with Semenyo’s goals. Our existing attacking players don’t seem to have this killer instinct which is of massive concern.

I mean for the non homegrown restrictions? It’s my understanding that by having an extra club trainer player we can register extra non club trained for the Champions League? Without them we have to name a smaller squad

Not how it works.

"In the UEFA Champions League, each club can register a maximum of 25 players in List A, with at least two of those being goalkeepers. At least eight of these players must be "locally trained" (club-trained or association-trained). If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players, their maximum List A squad size is reduced accordingly. There is also a List B, where clubs can register an unlimited number of players who are under 21 and have been at the club for at least two years."

He’s hardly a reject, he just doesn’t suit the way Amorim wants to play. It’s like us, take Son for example… he was totally unsuited to Ange’s way of playing. Does that mean he’s now a reject? How about Kane for England under Southgate? many fans were saying Kane was useless but it was Southgate’s bore fest approach that made very good to outstanding players look very average. Back to Spurs, our defence was like a sieve last season so does that mean Porro, Romero, VDVen and Udogie are crap?
It's mainly the spammer cunt I don't want.

With Romero reportedly staying = no need to spend £50m plus on another centre back unless Dragusin leaves and his fee is offset against a replacement… you would think the money saved could be pumped into revitalising our average forward line.

To be clear, signing Mbeumo, Semenyo, Eze or Simons isn’t going to make ups any more deadly. We must sign at least 2 of them and/or suitable alternatives. They’re not going to be available for every game = we’ll be left with the same average replacements.

Ideal world = a new front 3. Realistic = 2 new first choice across the 3 positions. What shouldn’t happen = only attacking signing 1 upgrade.

Thanks for clarifying - it’s why I asked the question about a loan as I didn’t understand why we need to re-sign say KWP as opposed loaning a previous club trained player.

It's probably easier to understand this way.
We are allowed a maximum squad of 21 NHG and HG players in UEFA.
If we have CT players then they can be added to the squad of 21.
Last season we had 2 CT players (Whiteman and Austin) and therefore a squad of 21 + 2 =23.
This season we currently only have Austin and so our squad will be 21 + 1 =22.
If we were to sign KWP and Cirkin our squad would be 21 + 3 = 24.

I get you, but I don't think Galatasaray execs or fans give two shits about that. The man came in, scored a zillion goals, won them the league title. Basically...Veni, Vidi, Vici (only in Turkish).

Play him upfront for us and see the difference with Solanke/Richy/Sonny/Brennan.
I honestly think Solanke scores as many for by far the best team in a pretty poor league. I think he's a great player obviously but I've no idea what his ceiling is in the premier league and for £400,000 a week I don't think we'll ever find out.

Frank right now

100m net spend? lmaoooo. saudi bid 70m to mitoma last summer. brighton refused. the guy is 28.

mitoma and simmons alone would be 150 mil. i don't know who would buy those 3 players for 50 million. not even in FM
100m net is a bit short.

Brighton are a selling club and at 28 its a good age he has 2 years on his current deal. He will move this summer in my opinion. (I think if he was willing to go Saudi they would have accepted it)

I reckon you could get 75 mil for them 3.. more if they are willing to go to Saudi

🤯😶

Gray hasn't shown anything to say he's got great upside, neither has Tel. My thoughts on Udogie and Odobert are well known. Sarr hasn't improved much (if at all) either. Donley was on loan at a League One outfit last season, Vusko was in Belgium. Mikey chewed more gums than he had minutes. Kinsky and Drags? Lol.

Obviously time is on their side and yeah some/all could become world beaters, but let's not pretend they're Yamals or Mbappes at their age just cause they're our kids.

More like 5 or 6 but okay.

Romero is only on the A-list cause he's Spurs (them bloody rose tinted glasses) and cause Qatar gifted the Argies the WC in '22.

None of the others are elite, that's why they're with Tottenham and not PSG, Real, City, Pool...

Everything you wrote, like usual, is wrong.

Its quite a likely transfer IMO. Hes young, proven, scores goals. And United WANT to sell him. You know what the price is. Its an easy deal in that respect.

I think it would be a good transfer with plenty of upside. Id rather drop 50m on garnacho than 70m on Semenyo. Might also persuade Romero to stay. And Romero might persuade Garnacho, considering he is gong to be Argentine captain.
£50M on a non starter att the 16th best club in the league. No thanks. 25 maybe.

Wow - I thought you were just a troll, but you also know appeaer to fuck all about football. You don't rate Udogie or Romero? 🤣😂

You should just drop all pretences and go and support PSG or Man City.

Another one to put on ignore.

See, this is the sort of thing I don't get. You either like the player and think he'll improve us, or you don't. As a fan, the transfer fee is irrelevant.
He's not going to be a better player if we get him for 25 instead of 50 so what's the big deal?
I'm not having a go at you personally, but this obsession with getting perceived "value for money " seems to be unique among our fan base.

The reason people care is that money is a finite resource and so there’s also an opportunity cost.

You are only considering the cost of the player but you also need to consider what else we could have spent our limited funds on.
