Fair Enough! But I think the boy for that reported figure would give us something we haven't had for a while. Pace and directness. I'll accept he misses a few chances, but he still gets in those positions to score 1 in 4 imo. I think he is a real handful at his best.

We conceded lots of goals becuase we played the most attacking system in the league with Porro ans Udogie as AM’s. We also scored a fuck ton of goals yet are desperate to sign forwards, why?

Tell me honestly what is most talented

The defence

Porro Romero Van Der Ven Udogie
Spence Danso Dragusin Gray

The forward line

Johnson Solanke Son
Tel Richy Odobert

The defence has players that would get into top 4 teams, our attack doesn’t.
Agreed - it’s one of the paradoxes of our squad!!

Why would Romero be a bad apple?

Also, setting a Spurs manager up for success NEVER involves selling your best players because you already know there is zero chance they will be replaced with a similar quality of player.

If we sell Romero it will be an overpriced mid wage type like Branthwaite who can’t even get in the England team or a punt from Europe that might reach his level in 2-3 seasons

Sorry, but that isn’t setting Frank up to succeed
It’s Frank’s decision - perhaps he can get Romero to buy into his teams methods in which mace absolutely keep him

Yeah maybe but some stories I've heard that he wasn't particularly liked and a bit arrogant. Keane knocked him out at training once apparently?
Anyway the discussion was about signing WC players and David's was not world class at that point in his career
David's attitude was still world class.

He helped to develop several players in that Spurs team. Carrick and Lennon in particular who he mentored.

I rarely give Spurs credit for events that have happened under the current ownership but the signing of Davids was up there for me in terms of ending the decade of despair.

David's signing and the progress made in 05 / 06 with Jol's players was a real turning point.

He was a terrible player tho by that time compared to his peak

If I were Thomas Frank looking at current Spurs squad, I would think there are so many playyers that could improve. So many players whose ceiling is way up.

Defense individually is one of the best, so is attack as a unit. Its midfield the real issue. Even there, he can work with Bergvall, Sarr, Gray, Bentancur and everyone of them far better individually than what he had at Brentford.

Ofcourse, we cant do that and we need to improve.

So, bare minimum we need another proven no6. Douglas Luiz my pick. Thats the absolute bare minimum if Son & Romero stays. If they dont ofcourse we need to improve a lot more.

My wishlist :

Douglas Luiz or Ederson for Bissouma
Eze for Sonny
Tapsoba (or KMJ or Collins) for Romero
Cirkin or KWP for Davies
Guessand for Richy

I
Everyone else is making signings and improving their squads for next season. Meanwhile Tottenham:

- Missed one transfer window where we could have signed players to improve our squad instead pissing about appointing a new manager.
- Re signed a 33 year old who is past his best on a 1 year contract extension.
- Re signed a 20 year old who never solved our problem last season in the front line and sign him again because he has potential.
- Announcing 4 residential towers will be built.
sounds about right. We sign players near the end of the transfer window every year.

Adding KWP or Cirkin does nothing but add KWP or Cirkin.
I assume it would add some homegrowns to our CL squad?

Biss Out 25m. Eze in 69m.
Romero Out 50m. Branthwaite In 70m.
Richarlison Out 20m. Jackson In 45m.

In 95m. Out 184m.
Annual wage increase probably 10m?

All doable for the 9th richest club in the world.

Biss out and not replacing him is a baaad move.

Jackson in is a baaaad move; period.

........£89m spent and actually made us worse.
