Norgaard is 31 and its debatable if he's even an upgrade on Bissouma. He's more consistent and has a much higher floor but the Bissouma we saw at Brighton was better than the Norgaard we saw at Brentford.

I like Norgaard and always thought he was a bit underrated. He definitely would do a job for us next season but its a short term fix and very underwhelming. Bissouma on a going day is just as good as him if not better! But because Bissouma is usually out of form, Norgaard would be a small upgrade.

Bissouma's form last for about 90 mins though, he isn't consistent.

He may have better high moments but I don't need my DM to go wandering up the pitch, go to ground in the box and have random brain farts.

Is he actually any good?

Feels very much like another plodder in the PEH mould
He’s not a plodder in any way. He gets about the pitch, good on the ball and is dangerous at set pieces. He was easily the best player on the pitch when England played Denmark in last years Euros. He’s a player who doesn’t get the credit he deserves and always thought he was the glue in Brentford’s side. We don’t need superstars in that position, just good footballers that can do both sides of the game and is consistent in his performances and fit the majority of games.

Small bit on Eze and Frank really liking Norgarrd

It’s good to know how the club sees our level now…at least we can react accordingly. ☹️

“Had Takai been the third or fourth signing of the summer then the narrative would have been more along the lines that it's the kind of well-scouted and data-confirmed move from Johan Lange's side, kept quiet as usual until it was advanced, that the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Thomas Frank's old club Brentford would have been lauded for, especially if the 20-year-old becomes the player Spurs expect him to.”

Obviously a £5 million gamble transfer for a player from a lesser league has never ever worked out for us so I can see how this is a justified reaction from 60% of the people on this forum.

Nobody had a fucking clue how Van De Ven would turn out, Danso from nowhere, Dragusin looked fantastic at a top league. Seems time to just stop judging a transfer immediately without watching the player play for a new manager in a new system that absolutely none of us know anything about.
Bravo

This is what Levy actually said - the message is exactly the same, the words slightly different:

“When you are involved in football … we all want to win, not everyone can win. It is very, very difficult … All we can do is give the manager the best players that we can afford.”
