Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's been 20+ years.

If we know what our model is and we all know Levy isn't going to change, why are people getting so angry about it?

I believe of we want Eze and if Eze wants to come then it'll be done. We had the same saga last summer though.

I get that this thread needs to exist. I get it's fun to look at rumours and links but that's all they are.

There are absolutely no ITKs with Spurs these days. None. So why do people get so frustrated at made up shit?

Ironically, Spurs fans being increasingly apathetic about levys model might be more likely to lead to it changing in the future than the annual outrage.

The outrage definitely doesn’t help but same breath people getting excited and gassing up windows as anything different to what we’ve done every other year doesn’t help either.

I can understand why Mbeumo would prefer Man United, in terms of wages, but when you look at what a train wreck they are I'm still surprised anyone would think of signing with them. I don't think Amorim will make it and who knows what comes next after that? I really prefer Mbeumo to Eze but I can't see Levy approving the kind of wages he'll demand.

I see the fact players, coaches, directors, agents etc are all enjoying their holidays, summer tournaments, etc is sending the spoilt among you into a rage tiz.

Fuck sake people, it's June. Relax and give it a rest.
We're nowhere near big enough to be throwing £100m around like Liverpool have for Leverkausen players. It is what it is.

We're also claiming to be happy that we have a team who look at data rather than names. Then we all froth at the mouth when we buy a player we haven't heard of.

I said as much last season.

I dunno mate, Fabinho was pretty fucking good in that position. Gravenberch was an elite 6 last year too.

Unless I’ve got him drastically wrong, Norgaard isn’t Fabinho or Gravenberch level is he?
No he isn’t but he’s a seasoned premier league player and is a guaranteed starter for his country. I don’t think those other two are top notch. Very good players and mostly play games at a high level. It’s fine lines in football and that’s the difference from being a good player to a very good player. Our midfielders are so inconsistent at times and that’s what stops them being top players. At times we’ve seen Bentancur and Biss look crazy good but their form can drop off a cliff from game to game.

It'll take a few years before people realise they're not close to a return to the top table.

This is what Levy said after the Cup win: "We've won a European trophy. It's not enough. It's what we haven't done that's more important. We need to win the league. We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League. We want to win."

So in order to do that, you really have to buy top, quality players, or it can't happen.

Let's just see what top quality players we do actually buy.

But Levy didn't say next season though, could have said under his breath 'sometime in the next decade' whilst keeping his fingers and toes crossed !

Just saying.

Well I've done some research on this and can't find it anywhere. The only information out there, that I can see, is his interview from a couple of weeks ago, where he said he wants to win the PL.and CL.

Maybe you could put the quote/interview up to draw a line under the argument?
I’ve already posted 1 but here’s another:

“Winning is not easy… there are clubs who spend a lot more than us and still don’t win. It’s hard.”

Money talks. Newcastle, Woolwich and Spurs were all in for him too but United were willing to multiply his wages by 5. The other 3 clubs would have been a much better career move for him.

Levy won't make Mbeumo our highest paid player and Mbeumo hasn't achieved enough to sign for us and instantly become our highest paid player. I know our model is frustrating but it does have to be consistent. Can't have Mbeumo coming in earning more than double all our other forwards are on. That is how you create a toxic environment! We would probably offer Mbeumo up to 180k but that would still be well short of what United have offered him. He's currently on 45k at Brentford so United have just stupidly hiked his wages to get him.

Lol at Richard Arlison Richard Arlison actually agreeing with this post when he's the king of getting twisted out of shape over twitter bollocks and his own fan fiction.

Zero awareness.

Is he actually any good?

Feels very much like another plodder in the PEH mould
Ah no. Don't get me wrong Norgaard is underwhelming but he's a very different profile to Hojbjerg.

Hojbjerg was just a proper box to box midfielder. A destroyer. Build up play was basic and he didn't like sitting deep on his own. Basically a poorer version of Declan Rice. Norgaard sits deep and controls games, build up play is probably his main strenght. Modric/Alonso profile but obviously a lot poorer. Very different player to PEH. Norgaard is not elite but he's better than what we have in that position. Bentancur is better but he's more of an 8 - Norgaard is a better 6 than Bentancur. A prime version of Bissouma has a higher ceiling than Norgaard but we probably only see that 5/6 games a season. Norgaard is consistent and has a high floor. Underwhelming signing but we need a profile like him and he'd walk into our team.
