Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Odobert has a season of PL experience already at Burnley. Now half a season of Pl and El with us. He’s past the loan stage IMO.

Last season was injury disrupted so we only saw flashes but this coming season we need to decide if he’s up to starting or being competition for a starter right now. Then work out what level he will be in 2 years.

If we decide he’s not ready and not going to be then a permanent decision needs to be made imo
So why is he afforded all these chances yet our academy players have to go on loan or barely see any minutes. I’ve not seen anything of Wilson to say he is that much better, if at all, than Moore. Same with players like donley, Devine , adeji and dorrington. All have to go on loan and then even if they do well people say well it’s only a league one side or Belgium league. Yet we are happy to buy young unproven players from the champo like Wilson and gray for big mo et and other players like the kid from Japan.

Frank must expect and warrant 1, if not 2 signings of real oomph.

We will see.

So interesting to.note that some detractors have been very very quiet since we beat United for that glorious night.

As though they are waiting to reignite their biased opinion, as opposed to supporting the club.

Somewhat pathetic really.

Maddison is a luxury player who needs legs around him. His best performances for us have actually came when Sarr was in the midfield with him. Had we signed Gallagher than that would have been huge for Maddison. Problem is Sarr is the only proper leggy midfielder we have. We look very lightweight with Bentancur Maddison Bergval as our midfield 3. Not enough of an engine in there and that is when Maddison looks weak and vulnerable. And in them scenarios you could argue that Kulusevski offers a far better balance. This has always been the problem with Maddison. He didn't always start for Leicester either - didn't start their FA cup final win! He needs two proper midfield engines in beside him for him to be at his best. Otherwise games can pass him by and we have seen lots of examples of this!

I love madders and hope we can build a team with him in it. But he is a luxury player who needs his ideal conditions!

First team squad my arse.

He’s going on loan for sure.

If not, what message you sending to Vuskovic ?

That’s before you work out how to get him into your CL squad
Philips and dorrington who have both done the hard yards going out on loan. They must be devastated that a 20 yr old from j league goes straight into first team squad.
I keep saying we may as well scrap the academy teams. Even if they clean winning titles in all age groups we have little interest in developing them into first team players. We also keep players like Davies sround and buy other young foreign players who all get a chance. Even though none have shown anything to warrant that chance or being higher in the pecking order.

5m ? Thats a lot of money for him. I thought he will be a complete loss.
If this happens, anyone still moaning about the 5m spent on Takai can take solace we are buying him on Veliz money

UIS$ 5m (£3.7m) is not a great return for a £12m purchase, although the sell on clause might yet give us a few million more in the future.

But its some cash back, and as you say will buy Takai who might go on to be a top player for us. Also worth saying that we've bought other promising players for similar relatively small sums - Ashley Phillips £2m and Will Lankshear also £2m both signed at about 17 or 18 year olds.

So every little back even on disappointing deals can be usefully spent ( 'every little helps' as Tesco puts it) and both Phillips and Lankshear may turn out to be worth many millions more than we bought Veliz for.

Money clearly talks!

Yeah, as United seem to be the destination where playing careers go to die, I’m very surprised anyone decent would want to go there.

Do we know what wages United are offering?
There’s talk that he was a United fan as a youngster. If his dream was to play for that team, then he will want to fulfil it. You can't blame the man for that.

Let's just move on to our next choice.

Takai looks very composed and classy from the clips I've seen. I'm more than happy to take a punt on him and another young player this window.

We'd 100% need an Eze level signing or two as well though.

Takai ans Eze in would in fairness be a really nice looking start to the window, next a CM/DM type needs to be high on the agenda and I'd still go for Dibling. He has Spurs level potential written all over him if we can do something for £40m or under.

Takai
Eze
Hugo Larsson
Dibling

Keep Richarlison for depth? Sonny and Bissouma departing?

I'd take it if offered now.

It won't be strong enough dibling will be a waste of money
