Tottenham are monitoring Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid

According to Spanish outlet Cadena Ser, Spurs have now registered their interest in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.

Rodrygo is unhappy at Real Madrid right now owing to frustrations with his game time — a player who is no longer an undisputed starter.

It really is this simple.

Great player with a star quality on and off the pitch, London lad, keen on the move, can be had for a reasonable price in this market, prime age, immediately elevates the team, just do it, this is as low-risk as a move in that price point can possibly be.

Much like with Maddison I feel like Eze would seem like he's spent a decade at Spurs within like two months. Right player right club right time.
You don't just pop into Aldi and buy a top class attacking midfielder you know

I mean it's all to the good to look for young talents to develop, we should do that too.

But we spent Eze-level money inflation adjusted on the likes of Richarlison and Solanke, it's not like we're incapable of spending at that level for proven PL players.

Eze is better than those guys, lower risk, higher reward.

It fits. It's right. This is the player. Get it done.

I agree with you mate ;)

Wharton is an exceptionally good DM.

Our Bozo board didn't want to part with the 20m Blackburn wanted when it was clear he was an exceptional talent. They were probably annoyed at their inability to act of the initial interest and decided to overspend on Gray so it didn't happen again. Sadly for them and us Gray is not and will never be the player Wharton has become.

Still think Gray ends up better than Wharton.

Much better athlete, Wharton is a liability out of possession

You're more than likely right tbf. We'll probably find a younger, cheaper alternative on lower wages.
What would be strategically absurd would be to do that and then spend Eze-level money on a CB or a 6 who is less proven with greater risk. That would just be mismanagement of funds, which a Levy-restricted operation cannot afford.

If you have one big deal to make, do it for the player you know the manager after Frank is going to be enthusiastically putting on the team sheet in 2030 to play in front of a crowd full of people wearing his shirt.

That is a huge statement. Wharton looks the real deal and is currently miles ahead. Archie needs time but next season is crucial for him. He needs to make himself a regular in the team. If he allows 2/3 years go by then he quickly turns into a Winks/Skipp who's 22/23 and not getting enough game time. Then the loans start and before you know it we are celebrating selling him for 10/20m.
