Which ones though? Sherwood and Redknapp have always said the exact opposite of criticism and that he would always be eager to reinforce and get players that were ambitious for us.

AVB had issues and disagreements with Baldini over players, and had unrealistic expectations of our finances pre-stadium-move, and our appeal as a club that - at that point - was a rare sight in the CL.

Eze, CDM and a left back is our 3 priority signings. I don't beleive we missed out on any targets yet bar maybe Cordosa who looks to have chosen Atletico over us even tho we have no way of being sure if we'd have even triggered that option. Tel agreed to come and signed a perm deal! He didn't even want to join us on loan in January so that was a positive turn.

Mbeumo and Norgaard were both linked with us but I feel like we did a deal with Brentford to show interest just to get their prices up. Both were always signing for United and Woolwich as personal terms were agreed before we even made Frank our manager.

We've not got the pull of a Real or Liverpool, or Utd of old, so we have to offer OTHER incentives.
Paying over the odds is what we've been accused of NOT doing, therefore we never get the best of the rest!

The thing is I've watched Solanke play 40 odd games this season, I think he will turn out to be well worth the money. He's just a very good all round player and has about 5 seasons left of top level football. It's all personal opinions, I just don't get how anyone who's watched us this year can think Solanke was poor considering our form.

I’m struggling to judge Solanke. Maybe once he has a manager that doesn’t ask him to run about 4 marathons a match closing down players then he’s too tired to be in the right place to score he may get more goals.

I understand criticising a trf window if - come the end - it isn't as you'd hoped; but so much of this is just a performative misery-wank.

The closest that is to being true is Mbeumo and even that is only at "soon" status.

Eze, Semeno, Kudus, Simmons... None have been sold.

Hell; we've even signed players we have been linked to.

You could just as easily ask where is the professionalism.

If he was dumb enough to take on a job, without actually finding out about the club he was signing for, then that's on him.

Maybe if he applied himself in the way that he should, WH would be in a better place and he would be better placed to have clubs queuing up for his signature, like Declan Rice did.
