Joe wouldn’t get defrosted from his cryogenic chamber for 15 million

Oh I knew that would get your juices flowing you

Imagine experiencing dozens and dozens of windows and still getting wound up over single tweets and supposed ITKs still.

Eze is a quality player but apparently other teams just figured out that he might be of interest? I get that we all have some PTSD from other misses, but nothing is ever sure and the assumption should be that any player of quality is going to have interest from multiple clubs at any time.
Not much different than how people lost their minds last summer over Levy being a tight git a screwing us over by not paying Eze's buyout....but conveniently neither did any other club.

Then he went out and had a less impressive campaign this past season and got a year older.

And, again, there seems to be more smoke about "where Eze wants to go" than "who wants Eze".

Have to manage my tone here, I would be happy to sign him. But some here act like he's the next Bale and we're going to lose him in 18 hours if we don't just pay the fee already.

By this shit I assume you mean we have spent money on the wrong player? Because over the years (2019-2021? aside) we have spent money.

We spent €260m in those two seasons tbf. I assume you mean 18/19.
(Nbombele, Sess, Lo Celso, Clarke, Bergwijn, Reguillon, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Rodon)

I do find it amazing though how we can recognise we've had amazing players like Berbatov, Keane, Defoe, Modric, Van der Vaart, Bale etc but simultaneously for some the rhetoric that we don't even sign decent players

Until we flog some of our senior players Levy will not sign anyone important. He won’t add any significant salaries to our books until spots in our CL squad are freed up. He simply won’t risk a Reguilon situation where he has to pay a player who isn’t eligible to play.

We’ll just have to hope some decent players are left in late August. He will never change.

Between 2004 and 2015 we signed some superb players and our hit rate was pretty good. Since 2016 we've been abysmal in the market and there isnt any sign of it getting better. How long do we live off those past successes?

We don’t want to do a Bury

Maddison is a sore thumb too, where we spent a big fee to get an established, top class PL star who everybody knows.

You can't do this kind of history and not draw the distinction between Hitchen and what has happened since.

We've bought a lot of high-floor, low-ceiling, good-but-not-great players post-Hitchen in a way that gets a bit frustrating and feels like running in place, but we absolutely flushed money down the toilet with Hitchen and it has taken years to clean away the totally useless garbage he filled the squad with.

Our deadwood is nowhere near as dead as it was in 2021.

(I should add that while Hitchen was a disgrace as a scout, I'm also using him as a byword for an entire recruitment process that had totally broken down and in which Levy was a crucial and ultimately the responsible party)

Love the message about me like I am the one who is on here commenting on other opinions. I tried relentlessly when I first joined, all the start of this season to talk about football but was completely shut down because people were sad about losing games.

When there is football Ill chat football, but no one is talking about anything new or interesting on here at all. Same transfer window comments 'jokes' and commentary
Don't worry about the Brown nosed Toad, he's just "toadying up" to the cadre.

A while back he was giving up the biggun about how he'd 'love' to meet me face to face to tell me what he thought of me, so I sent him a PM, telling him where I live so he could do just that. Unsurprisingly, I got no reply.

I left it at that and haven't responded to a single post he's made but, in true keyboard warrior style, he still has to get his sly little digs in, craving approval from his imaginary friends.

The irony here is that he's the most obnoxious poster on here with anyone who disagrees with him, all to get a few ticks from them.

A true Brown nosed Toad.

That's when we had the bright idea of going "this head coach of ours seems to be doing a good job. Maybe we should cave and let him have full control of transfers"

FWIW I think recruitment has been decent under Paratici for senior players, and has been better under Lange. The main issues have been the association between performances under Ange and the players, which skew the fact that Begvall, Sarr, Vicario, and Udogie are players that have been very good value for money.

It's not personal opinions, it's numbers and they don't lie.

0 apps & 0 goals for Chelsea. 21 apps for Liverpool...1 goal. First PL stint for B'mouth: 42 played, 3 scored. Second stint: 71 games, 25 goals. 9 in 27 for us...after signing for 65 mil, which was ridiculous for a guy who'd only scored more than 10 PL goals once (in 7 seasons).

27 years old, 3 England caps...obviously never scored.

I like big Dom and I respect how hard he works, but if we were a serious club that genuinely wanted to challenge for top honours he'd be nowhere near our squad, let alone first XI. He's a West Ham or Everton type player really.
Come back to it next May mate.
