Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They’ve missed out on williams to Barcelona and want a left winger so it isn’t a huge leap to think they’d target Eze. I agree though. The account knows a few things.

Unfortunately, their board will look at what Liverpool and City have done this summer and try to compete.

We’ve hired a coach who has built a reputation from punching above his weight with peanuts and then put out a PR puff piece with 2 suits wanking each other off.

Fortunately, they will still find a way to fuck it up but it's felt from the start like this is going to be a long and shit summer for transfers.

Yeah I think lots of us saw it all coming. The Tel signing then confirmed it for me. He’d done nothing to show we should spend 35 million on him. Easier pay that and putting him on 50k a week than mbuemo or Eze on 250k. It’s why we will consistently fail. They never learn from their mistakes either.

FWIW I’ve never been convinced we’d sign Eze or similar just because of levy”s statement after the financial results. That was the real him, not the PR puff piece with the new gooner.

I don't know who we sign now. Probably just have to look outside the Prem again. 70m for Semenyo is ridiculous. If we pay that then we are no better than Chelsea and United. I'd say we just bring back Paratici and let him punt on players from the Italian league.

You were the one saying we were going to sign 2 of mbeumo/eze/semenyo/kudus/simons only last week. I was actually the one trying to slow you down by saying it'll only be one and probably eze or Semenyo.

You changed your tune fast. Not gonna lie today was a tough day. I really thought Eze would come.

It’s probably what we are waiting for. I think we can’t employ him until 1 July or something. It’s why Milan didn’t go for him in the end.

Ngl, I am genuinely kinda surprised how many thought we would sign Eze, even if this Woolwich thing doesn’t end up happening. The wages he’d reasonably expect are the type ENIC turn their nose up at, not like a Solanke or Johnson who know deep down they’re overpaid even on a ‘low’ wage.

For the record I don't think Eze is someone Woolwich are seriously considering, completely different profile to Martinelli and they're chasing Rodrigo anyway so no idea why people are melting, all they've done is register their interest lol

Anyway he ain't my choice so if he doesn't come so be it...give me a proper 2 way winger who can play on both sides like hmm I dunno Semenyo...😎

That's when we had the bright idea of going "this head coach of ours seems to be doing a good job. Maybe we should cave and let him have full control of transfers"

FWIW I think recruitment has been decent under Paratici for senior players, and has been better under Lange. The main issues have been the association between performances under Ange and the players, which skew the fact that Begvall, Sarr, Vicario, and Udogie are players that have been very good value for money.
Yeah, totally agree. We had a bad spell for a bit but some of the recruiting recently has been solid. The biggest issue I have is that we’ve go so far over to the young, promising strategy we are just lacking in more proven, higher impact players.

If we wanted Eze we would lay down the cash and pay him £100-150k a week. The problem is levy wont want to pay the release clause so will have to go higher to get them to accept instalments. So we're looking at £75-80m plus his wages. if we have to go higher.

We spent €260m in those two seasons tbf. I assume you mean 18/19.
(Nbombele, Sess, Lo Celso, Clarke, Bergwijn, Reguillon, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Rodon)

I do find it amazing though how we can recognise we've had amazing players like Berbatov, Keane, Defoe, Modric, Van der Vaart, Bale etc but simultaneously for some the rhetoric that we don't even sign decent players
Yeah, forgive me if I got the dates wrong, the 18 month period after The CL final when Levy didn't spend a bean in the transfer market. Unforgivable!
But we have spent money, just not on the calibre of player needed to become EPL champions, I suspect mainly due to those type of players wage demands. But we came close on a couple of occasions regardless. After coming so close to The EPL title and CL trophy with this blue-print, Levy will continue to chase the dream on a budget, relatively speaking. Lets be honest if you are serious about winning either of those comps, you don't spend over 100m on Solanke and Johnson, but we did.
Point! We spend money but at tier 2 level keeping our fingers crossed we will see a minor miracle.
Bouncing around the top 6, having a good run in both domestic cups, maybe once in 5-6 years going all the way to the final of either, is all as Spurs fans we can hope for, regardless of what our chairman spews out!
The sooner we understand and accept this, the less frustrated and deluded our lives will be.

What three signings do you recommend to help us challenge?
Tony Hibbert and Owen Hargreaves on vet minimum, pay-as-you-play deals.

Karel Eerme, the 21yo Estonian superstar, 3rd highest goalscorer in the Meistriliiga. 2k pw would seal the deal.

China's captain so we complete the golden Asian triangle.

Then we're doing the double for sure.

I wonder what the PSR & WTR trophies look like?🤔

Another week almost gone and preparations for next season following the usual route they follow every summer.
Last minute . Com Hotspurs, not giving the coach the players required for a full pre season just to save a couple of weeks wages, nothing ever seems to change under this regime.
Got to hope we have some serious irons in the fire that we are ready to move on fast, though I somehow doubt it

Isn't Micky Van De Ven a pretty stellar signing?

If we're going value for money surely Udogie qualifies? And excellent early returns on Bergvall for even cheaper?

Madders and Porro are really good players we got for fair prices.

There was not a single acquisition like that under Hitchen, we didn't even manage a Bentancur or Vicario-level decent, reliable PL player. Lucas Moura and PEH were his two best.
Van Der Ven and Maddison the pick. Porro is ok, i'm not his biggest fan but he's improved. Too early to judge Bergvall, Gray, Odobert. Anything is an improvement on Hitchen but its still so so imo. Quite a bit of money spent and we could still easily replace half the team.
