Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wouldn't be surprised if we just keep Son and Richrlison now and don't sign a forward 😅
Make do and mend

Could help create a lovely wartime feel at the club where everyone mucks in

Levy could come to the training ground and sing "we're going to hang out the washing on the siegfried line" to the players

it could genuinely change their lives for the good

What a man

Levy should start doing a collection at each home game. Like the Church, we should pass a basket around at half time for a collection. Whatever we make can go towards funding a new player in 2028. Let's call the basket collection Project 28.

We can buy a 30 year Eze for a cut price deal with that collection money. Wow what a club!

We always, pretty much without fail act as though we have not identified targets that will improve the team.

We finished s pathetic 17th, so on that basis their is much mileage for improvement.

Yes, new manager, and yes, really poor squad usage, but it's just...... wel it's just.

I am not sating we must spend gazillions but it's got to br better than this.

I mean to be Frank!

I should have known when we hired Frank that we'd given up.

We just want to be that team who punches above its weight by finishing 4th every second season without spending big money. Levy probably looks back at the Poch years as a complete success. He doesn't see that we fell short. He sees the new stadium and all the money we made without spending big. Thats his dream and thats what he has brought Frank in to do.

In the meantime enjoy all the 16 year old kids we are buying. We are in the Japanese market too now so great exposure. We ARE so so so so sustainable. Is there a trophy for being the most sustainable club in England? We might win that!

Good idea but I'd prefer if the money raised would go towards the hotel costs and/or a nice little brucie bonus for Daniel

Exactly.

So we'd be signing him not because he's a valued target who we've long admired and helps push us up a level......But because ' we can get a very good deal'

This is our modus operandi. It's how we operate. This is the core value of ENIC's transfer policy. Sniffing around for special deals, bargains and crass exploitation.

It's absolutely disgusting.
Spot on. No other big club acts like this, everyone else has their targets and goes out and gets them. Not us though, we hang about like a poor cunt in Marks and Spencer’s just before closing, looking to see what’s on a yellow sticker.

We’re that pathetic we couldn’t even convince a bloke (Cardoso) that we had a deal in place for a whole year to sign for us, even after getting into the Champions League.

Half following the thread. Didnt poch say he didn't want worse players than he had, we had a amazing squad so better players were elite. So he rejected all that were offered rather than any new players.

I think that's about the sum of it. AVB did similar too, in terms of "I want Moutinho and Hulk".

Problem is that we don't always have that choice/ability. We compete with clubs that can afford to buy a Mudryk or Mutu and then have them drug banned doing nothing, or to buy a Sanchez and have him stink up the place on £500k a week. When we get it wrong with an Ndombele, it hurts the club for a long while.
So if Poch, for example, had said "No, I want Messi or no one" to add to his Argentine collection, or a Morata that claims he doesn't want to be second fiddle to Kane, then you kind of have to say "well we aren't able to get players who won't come here, but we can still improve the squad". The weird thing is that people throw it back with "We had Sissoko and Winks in midfield" as if it was scraping the barrel, but Poch loved that diamond and obviously thought they were hard to improve on. We had Wanyama/Dembele/Eriksen/Lamela/Dier/Dele/Moura/Sissoko/Winks/Son as our MF/WF options, so aside from the first two struggling with injuries/fitness, we should really have had plenty of room to bring in depth or variety even if they weren't "elite" options.

I feel like that whole thing was just a naivety and some character growth for Poch, because when he left us he managed two teams with unlimited budget and some 'elite' players, and it came across like he had very little pleasure out of managing the Neymar/Mbappe/Messi group.

Well the idea is to hype up the transfer in 2028 just to encourage people to be generous with the collection. But what we'll really do is low ball Eze so he doesn't agree to come and then sign some 15 year old from China - new market baby! Record bonus for Levy in 2028 and we'll double down on the collections. We'll have someone collecting on the way into the stadium too!

Doesn’t make him a starter or game changer type player we need (yet).
Didn't say it did.

You need to make your mind up. One minute you're pushing for young academy players to start, the next you're questioning whether a young player, with more Prem experience than any of our other youngsters, is a starter.

Anyone would think you're just finding excuses to have a pop at the club...

Barely a few weeks in and we're already at peak TFC transfer thread status:

People losing their minds over a couple of no-mark tweets, more links with teenagers than Gary Glitter and shills flocking to defend Levy like seagulls on hot chips.

Textbook stuff lads, keep it up!

Lyon now relegated they have to sell (in financial trouble) we can get a very good deal...

Id assume Tel is future betting on his ceiling, still raw but has had some good experience at high level with Bayern
I dont think there is anyway we sign Tel if Bayern didnt owe us money for Kane. Its another convenient, opportunustic deal that suits all parties rather than what was really required for the team given we already have 2 young wingers that prefer playing off the left. What we needed on the left is a Son replacement, or upfront a Richarlison replacement Tel may improve over time so they've taken an easyish punt. Nothing against Tel, he may go on to be a good player but it was hardly a priority, with us its always the deal.

That has to be one of the most embarrassing pieces of business the club has ever done (which is really saying something)

And as far as I know we didn’t even get the sell on money for him because he rejected a move to us as opposed to us choosing not to sign him.

Just awful stuff.

Agree on everything except Solanke. He’s nothing like him really in that you can’t really go long and ask him to hold it up and bring others in.

I think he’d link with Solanke really nicely though

Maybe I didn’t explain that very well. Yeah, he’s nothing like Solanke, I just think he’s a better finisher and creator in and around the box. You can’t lump it up to him, but you can play it into his feet. As I said, think he upgrades Richarlison’s remit.

It’s been said many times before but Levy’s attitude to transfers is always opportunistic. It’s young players with a big upside or it’s older players with a favourable contract situation or middling salary demands. In all cases the focus is always on minimising the wage bill.

He never looks at the positions we need and goes and gets the best player we can afford. The priority is always to get a good deal not to sign the best player. Levy fundamentally does not believe there is value in signing top players because sporting value is not a consideration for him. It’s all about the balance sheet.

This summer window will go exactly the same as the last one. We’ll just have to hope that Frank can continue his habit of getting more out of less.

When fit, Richarlison is an extremely useful player who weighs in with goals. If this guy (I know nothing about him at all), is an improvement in both output and availability, then it would be a very good deal.
