Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Best player on his day… maybe… but those days don’t occur often enough for me and he clearly wants out, so I’d sell and reinvest in a decent player that wants to be here.
Not often enough? I can understand if you mean because of injury, but virtually every player suffered that last season and the previous season.

This rhetoric about him has been debunked.
Last season he featured in 18 Prem games, the season before 33, so this "theory" that he's only ever fit for Argentina is tosh. When he's fit he plays. Some people are mixing him up with Lo Celso.

He's a Red card waiting to happen: Really? 2 Yellows and 1 Red in the 23/24 season, 3 Yellows this season gone.

He keeps making mistakes: Really? He's made 3 mistakes leading to goals in the 2 seasons he's been with us. As has been shown on here countless times, with him and VDV starting, our form is top 3, and that was under the previous manager.

It is not clear at all that he "wants" to leave. Until he hands in a transfer request, all we have is media speculation and agenda driven nonsense. The only people who will know what his thoughts are, are him, his agent and the club.

Honestly, the willingness to sell off our best players, based on a few clickbait pieces that we see every single season when it comes to Spurs, is ridiculous.

A valid source says he wants Woolwich and has already agreed personal terms with them. If Woolwich want to pay the 60m in 3 installments then he's their player. Woolwich are just waiting to see if they can get someone better first.

And? Doesn't mean jack lol

I'm not even convinced they're after him anyway, he's a completely different profile than Martinelli and they'be been chasing Rodrigo besides all that.

Some needless melting based on tenuous reports

Absolutely. Every word.

It’s like the clubs PR wouldn’t mind if Romero was less popular now as well.

You’re looking at it through rose tinted glasses.

He was epic for the final, but the start of the season he had some very poor performances. He seems to lose concentration too easily if it’s not a big game.

Giving interviews you want to move to La Liga and his instagram post on the day Frank was announced were clearly planned to indicate he wants out. You don’t need to read click bait articles to come to that conclusion as it was bleeding obvious.

If he’s 100% committed keep him and sign a new contract. If he’s not sell and reinvest. It’s that simple!

They are bottle jobs. We aren’t. Very simple

Spurs being "bottle jobs" is something that gained a lot of traction to deflect from teams like liverpool (slippy g) and Woolwich actually being bottle jobs.

I don't think we've ever actually bottled something, in that we've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Even in 2016, we were never top at any point. Woolwich were, but no one ever says they bottled the title to leicester in the jan/feb

1. He was bobbins before injury this season.

2. His availability since arriving in 2022 is 65% EPL (60% all comps).

What valid source? Here’s another source saying ARSE haven’t made any contact and their priority is a striker and they’d have to sell to buy Eze. I no longer put any stock in anything any itk or journo says unless it’s Romano announcing here we go.

It does. If Woolwich want him they get him and he's a brilliant signing for them because he's an upgrade on both Odegaard as a 10 and Martinelli as LW. If Woolwich want him they'll get him. Only reason they won't go for him is if they can get someone even better!

Eze is the best player we can sign. Woolwich are probably linked with 2 or 3 better forwards. That is annoying. Play it down all you like but it hurts!

Whether you rate Romero or not the fact is he has 2 years left on his contract and i think its highly unlikely he'll sign a new one. So this summer is the maximum we're going to get for him. Ditto Bentancur and Bissouma, who have 1 year left. I'd love that we had the resources just to ignore that but that lot gets you circa £85m. Doubt they'll all go but there has to be a cut off point with all of them if they're not signing. Could add Sonny and Davies having 1 year left but given age and length of service they're probably a lot more comfortable letting them leave on a free

Wow! We’ve only gone and done it!

Yes, believe it or not, TUMI have been named as our Official Luggage & Travel Accessories Partner.

Who needs new players when you can spend £1,000 on a cabin bag or £2,000 on a fucking hold suitcase?

I know my sources. I block all the bad ones and bookmark all the good ones.

The best Woolwich ITK account by a distance said he's agreed all personal terms with them. Its up to Woolwich if they buy him or not.

Issue is if AM are only offering a stupid 30-40m for Romero it’s simply not worth it. There is offering a lower deal in the 60m range and getting taken apart.

Son and Davies are totally different. It’s the end for them so it’s whatever we can get.

I agree, if thats all that's on offer then keep him for another season. Doubt we'll get much less next summer. Bissouma, Bentancur we just have to take whats on offer.
