Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I take your point that the sole revenue generated by ticket and merchandise buying fans is a small percentage of monies generated, but fans being largely irrelevant, no!
The minute fans stop attending games to the level we see now, is the minute the game dies. No more tv rights, no more advertising rights, little media interest, just empty stadia and the end!
Like I wrote, they're just the new Gladiator arena games.
People are sheep, slaves to their passions, and the greatest passion out there is Football, on a global scale.

We're irrelevant in that the wealthy, who basically run the game, know how to control those passions, and the masses lap it all up.

Let me ask you this, in what World is it right that a human being, kicking around an inflated ball of leather, should be paid millions each year (even the most mediocre professionals are earning in excess of a million a year) when people who truly matter have to work for a decade to earn what these players earn in a month?

Yet, not only do we lap all this up, WE demand that their extortionate wages are INCREASED!!!

We are controlled to the point that we DEMAND these players being paid more!

We're irrelevant because they already control the masses. They provide a drug that is impossible to kick, and like true junkies, we demand more and more of it.

Football used to be the people's game. It used to be affordable. It used to have friendly rivalries, in stadiums where rival fans could mingle and still enjoy the game.

It's not that any more. It's a corporate entity where the be all and end all is money.

Burkinshaw said there used to be a Football Club over there about us. The truth of the matter is that there are no longer Football clubs, just corporate enterprises masquerading as Football clubs all across the World. But we're addicted to them so, even though we can recognise this truth, there's fuck all we'll ever do about it.

Levy: "We want to win the Premier League and the Champions League."

History: "Ok Daniel, you gonna need: a top keeper; two top 4 calibre CB who can stay fit; two FB who know how to defend; a beast DM and another who's levels above Gray; a 10 who can really push Madders; two wingers who dribble past people and can cross; a CF who scores goals."

:bentancurpoint:This is always such a stupid dichotomy because it acts like it’s some kind of deliberate decision to either aim for top 6 or aim for trophies. But what makes you most likely to win trophies is having a squad that is regularly competitive in the Premier League and routinely playing in Europe. “Being in the big six” dramatically increases our chances of winning a cup because it makes us richer and makes us a more enticing destination for higher caliber players. Aiming for 11th place as long as it comes with the odd League Cup once a decade isn’t a good strategy unless your goal is to be West Ham.

Well I hear you, a little heavy if I'm honest, but if I felt as strongly as you obviously do I would make it my mission to beat "The System", (my addiction) that is in place by rejecting it outright.

Looking at Benfica line up - I would like to see us go buy Kokcu. We were interested in him back when he was at Feynoord playing under Slot.

He does the pressing game well + has really good creativity. He would fit us so perfectly.

I would rather go for him than Hackney. 30-40m on him would be money spent well and clearly upgrades the XI and squad.

Hi JOHN THOMAS

Care to explain why you vanished around the time we won a major trophy and when you returned you posted fuck all about it?

We are still waiting for your explanation.

He is so emberassing.
He complains about enic Fans but he is not a spursfan he is just an anti enic fan which is some sad hobby.
Going on about enic for a decade and hide in a hole when spurs win a trophy. And that’s not enough he changes his name.
I mean wtf

100%. What annoys me is the sheer distaste a portion of our fan base (never mind football in general) have towards our academy players and the desire to spend money like it's some sort of dick enlargement.

It's bonkers to consider our greatest player of the PL era was an academy lad and one of our own. "Hahaha yeah like we have an academy full of Kanes" I anticipate as the retort - but none of the people who would suggest that, and very, very, few of our fans would have given Kane the benefit of doubt over signing some other £40m striker.

Having to sign other team's players at top prices is a sign of a shit football club if you ask me. It isn't something to aspire to or be proud of unless you're a bit weird and think a transfer window is something to be won. A good club would be like Barca were a decade or two ago, with La Masia erupting with talent in every position. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pique, Valdes, Alba. We should have local lads in our team who are part of the club's DNA.

I saw a stat, and it sounds correct but I haven't validated it - United have had an academy player in every matchday squad for the past 80 years. Fans should be embarrassed that they have to sign players because they don't generate any decent ones, rather than lusting after the next mercenary who doesn't give a shit about our club unless there's a benefit to it

I'm no different to the masses, I'm addicted to it too, but I recognise the fact that I'm part of the problem. I also recognise that I have a snowball's chance in Hell of ever convincing anyone else of it. No one wants to admit that they're a junkie being controlled.

I mean, you only have to look at this thread to see just how brainwashed so many are, DEMANDING that we pay extortionate prices, with astronomical wages, for players who couldn't give a toss about those people making the demands on their behalf. Lunacy.

They complain about paying high prices to watch the game, yet still pay. They complain we don't pay even more millions to players that are already paid millions! Then demand we pay even more for more players and pay them even more!

It's utter madness, and it's a madness that has been created by an ultra wealthy few.

It's not our game anymore mate, it hasn't been for a while, and nothing will change until a World of addicts wake up to this, which won't happen in my lifetime.

No such thing as Levy time, let's knock that myth on its head, he has lived off the Van der Vart transfer for way too long.

Not against signing likes of Hackney, pity we didn't do something similar with Wharton and Eze.

But at this moment in time we need at least 3 players ready to walk into our first 11 not more for the future, so as long as signing players like Hackney do not impact on first team signings then it's cool.

Rumours we are waiting until July 1st to do our business, let's hope this is true and we get faces in the door ASAP and give Frank a decent chance at pre season.
