This isn't about 1 game in the final. It's about a heavily heavily tainted season.

CL qualification for everyone else = Add to the squad and improve.

CL qualification for Spurs = Sell established player and replace with kid from obscure league for 5m. Sign youngster for 35m that failed on loan.

The transfer market in the Old Continent is starting to move amid the Club World Cup finals. While on vacation with his family, Cristian "Cuti" Romero's move to Atlético Madrid is moving forward thanks to an agreement in principle with Tottenham Hotspur.
This weekend, both institutions reached an understanding in their talks, and the defender, who won a world championship with the "Albiceleste" in Qatar 2022, is close to joining the ranks of "Cholo" Diego Simeone for a fee of €55,000,000 plus €10,000,000 in variables.
Despite these important steps, the pending issue regarding the transfer of the Córdoba defender is no less important. This will continue next week with the expectation of a successful outcome

It’s pretty clear now that Ange wasn’t sacked for winning the EL, he was sacked for realizing that winning trophies isn’t part of the model.

As soon as he started talking about wanting to win more and needing experienced players, he was toast.

The more time passes since he was moved on, the more it looks likely that he was managing against the club to win that EL.

Not enough. We bought him for 50,000,000. Add another 20m Euros and see what comes back.

I think he's overrated by this fanbase but he's a good player - and will look even better in Spain. Atleti have recently shown that they're willing to spunk on quality too.

I already said this mate..it's clear but people don't want to accept it.

They didn't give a damn that he had us finishing 17th and was quite possibly the worst tactician known to mankind. They cared when he insisted we needed to buy experience and going the youth route was a "mistake".
