Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

just saw AM pay Oblak 305k per week, and 33 year old Griezmann 230k per week. Koke 260k, no wonder he wants to go, he'll probably get 260k per week, guaranteed CL every season and much nicer climate

hmm there's need to be a real wage restructuring at the club if the plan is to win the league and CL league . Shouldn't be getting outgunned by Atletico , there's no reason for it.

(23/24 season)
Atletico Madrid Revenue = 409.5 million Euro

Tottenham Hotspur (minus any euro football) =615 million Euro

smarter not harder i guess tho :angesmile2:

It’s pretty clear now that Ange wasn’t sacked for winning the EL, he was sacked for realizing that winning trophies isn’t part of the model.

As soon as he started talking about wanting to win more and needing experienced players, he was toast.

The more time passes since he was moved on, the more it looks likely that he was managing against the club to win that EL.
:mourwhat:

Yeah league position bore absolutely no relevance to the decision the board took in giving Ange the bullet!

Ramsey - if it happens (I bloody hope not) smells of a club signing considering we’ve reportedly wanted him for a few seasons.

What I don’t get, is why have we’ve gone to the trouble of restructuring, bringing in a competent manager, bringing Fabio Paratici back, knowing the blatant holes and deficiencies in the squad yet we’re still pursuing a player who will add next to nothing different to what we already have.

I’ve seen some mention about how he’s got very good ball retention similar to Dembele… he looks nothing like MB, he was a huge unit who was in full control of everything he did, he was cool, calm and collected, a truly wonderful player. Ramsey on the other hand looks clumsy and his ball retention is due to scrapping for the ball as opposed being dominant like MD.

Where does he play? Villa often use him as a wide forward. His record (assists and goals) for a 24 year old is pathetic. This has opportunistic purchase written all over it.

but here is a dick pic for you
CDN media
I only see a giant cunt on that second pic.

When do you think the club became one of the big 6?

If you count back 25 years since Levy/ENIC took over (2021-1976) the club won more trophies then..
I’d say 2014, if not 2015. The term big 6 only got created around that time when Sky realised they needed a way to keep including United in conversations at the start of their decline during the Moyes and Van Gaal eras. Before that point the media only really spoke about the top 4 club and we were routinely left out of that. We became a big 6 level club in like 2009, but the media actively ignored the progress the club had made at the time for a while.

I vividly remember going on Facebook and twitter at the time and a pretty common opinion was people wondering where this ‘big 6’ term came from and I’m sure a few others remember that as well.

Ramsey is an interesting one. Very hardworking, great ball carrier , very strong with a good eye for goal. Not the type of player who will run a game though, more a Henderson or Gallagher type, certainly not a DM and not really a number 10.

Is a very fair point

Big 6 just sounds like PR spin for the PL to make out it’s more competitive than it really is, when the reality is that the winner has been from a very predictable group since the league started

There's a Wikipedia page about it that I didn't know existed.

Worth noting that I think between '76 and '01 the club won 5 out of 7 finals (excl. charity shield), and between '01 and '26 the club has won 2 out of 6 finals.
So the number of finals is one less, but our ability to get across the line has suffered.
I doubt anyone could call the period of '76 to '01 equally or more competitive as it has been in the last 25. The economic scales have exploded into new motivations for winning things (such as sports washing and arguably some level of money laundering in terms of the post-communism oligarchs)

Frank may want him to stay, but it could also be a way of getting Madrid to pony up the reddies required!

I very doubt that Atleti are even reading, let alone considering what Ali Gold is reporting about Thomas Frank’s wishes.

They know that Levy is the one they need to deal with and they will either pay or they won’t.

They’ve already forked out enough this summer that they likely need to sell someone before they invest again anyway.

99% they wait it out until next summer and Romero stays but doesn’t sign an extension.

Winning creates expensive expectations.

They’ve successfully dodged those expectations for 25 years, it’s time to beat those back down again.

You will be happy for a dvd after finishing 4th and you will understand when ticket prices go up every year we finish in the European places.
