Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Okay sorry some of the players I mentioned had already joined the club before Sugar took over. Now the club's record signing some 35 years on is Dominic Solanke. A player that will likely be forgotten about shortly after he leaves the club.

So? Gordon Durie cost more than twice as much a Lineker. Not quite sure what your point is, other than to belittle a European Trophy winning striker who just had a 16-goal season
:frankfacepalm:

I love these links to deadwood players from teams like villa really pushes us to stardom

It’s a funny one. Semenyo has a far better attidude and is a safer bet but if you told me one of them would become world class than its Kudus all day. He is the one with the higher ceiling.

If you were offered one last Summer then its Kudus all day but Semenyo had a far better season last year and Kudus does have attitude issues. If you are a dreamer then you want Kudus. If you are a realist then you want Semenyo.
I’m not seeing that really. Semenyo is so much smoother on the ball, great balance and two footed. His dribbling is effective, he gets someone off balance and bets them simply and plays with his head up, a far classier player.

Kudus won’t ever be world class. Won’t be anywhere close to it. He’s just a chaos merchant, quite a choppy, head down dribbler who’s normally unaware of his teammates. Everyone would be sick of him after the first season. Would be a terrible signing. So probably more likely to happen

Not sure exactly when, but since 2009, so in the last 16 years, we've finished in the top 6 no less than 13 times - the line is probably different for everyone, but for most people after a number of consecutive top 6 finishes, usually with the same other 5 teams, that's reasonable to consider us 'one of the big 6'. So for me it was probably some time around 2012 or something like that. (Others may prefer trophies as a measure, and hence not consider us one of the big x (whatever number they choose there, perhaps to suit a preordained agenda), which is fine - I'm just trying to answer your question by giving you my own view on it - for me, the league is your bread & butter, and the best indicator of where you are as a team, much more so than winning trophies (or indeed not winning trophies, which is the normal status of 99% of teams)).

They (Sky) expanded the old "Top 4" narrative to "Big 6" around the time we started getting CL cos at the time LFC and then AFC & MU often wouldn't.

We are unwelcome gatecrashers in that respect.

Last week Matt law said on LWOS that West Ham were desperate to offload him and we weren’t interested. I suspect if that’s changed is because we’ve been turned down elsewhere.

Mbeumo left footed
Kudus left footed

Mbeumo getting 250kpw and costing 60m+
Kudus probably doable for 150kpw and 50m+

Also, if we get Kudus, that means Kulusevski won’t play RW and stays as a 10. Which also makes sense with the connections to Eze and Simons going dark.

All information taken in, Kudus is the marquee signing for the summer.

That's pretty much how I see it - with both players. Interesting though that there's quite a divide on here, I know it's a very small sample, but so far since I asked it's roughly 50/50 I'd say...

(EDIT: Actually it's 3-1 to Semenyo, but there are quite a lot of people who seem to like the idea of signing Kudus irrespective of my specific question). Suspect it will cause quite a divide on here if we do sign either (not that that's unusual - everything on here causes a divide it seems 😂 ).

They seem to think we offered 50 and they turned it down. Kudus will cost us more then solanke imo whether he is worth it or another overpriced player like solanke or rich who knows
