Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

theres 100% a very good player there, hes shown that. when hes been on his game hes been our best player. need to get that out of him more, needs a good manager and a good system to thrive in.
Ffs that old line ‘there a player there’. Hate that line. You could say that about anyone. Why do we have many players where a lot of fans think ‘there’s a player in there’?
Why can’t have some players whose actually ‘there’ whatever that means.

na you cant say that about anyone. kulu has proven he has elite ability.

granted it was a long time ago but for a few months under conte he was our best player, the ability is in him, hes shown us. hopefully frank can get it out of him, if he cant then yea, he'll have to go wont he.

Different with managers though. More subjective. They are just describing him as a player. Head down, selfish, doesn’t spot passes, lacks game intelligence runs into one too many players. Just all the stuff you can see if you’re watching whole games not just watching spliced highlights imo

Maybe - football fans think all the players are shit when the team isn't winning. This thread is not massively different with regards to players that would add something to the strongest PL sides

I think there might be a case of letting Frank evaluate what we got before selling and buying. Are the players back in training yet? Give Frank a week after that before you get to negative.
And how long will that table and what quality will be left after this evaluation. Should have got a couple of quality signings in already and told him work with them. Ffs he must have known and approved tel signing without evaluating the existing club players.

We have enough options (currently) in the LW spot - Kudus should only be pursued if we lose a couple of them. Didnt he lose his shit once and get sent off against us?

The money (if we have any) needs spending on another 10 to play when Maddison is either crap or injured (66% of the season) and an experienced 6 or 8 who is a complete bastard to play against
Kudus is best from RW or 10

Anyone know what Morten Hjulmand , Mikel Damsgaard, Hayden Hackney, Eberechi Eze, Bryan Mbuemo, Antoine Semenyo, Jhon Lucumi, Marcus Rashford, Mohammed Kudus, Cristian Norgaard, Georges Mikautadze, Giovanni Leoni, Niccolo Pisilli, Dennis Cirkin, Oliver Boast, Lukus Ullrich, Adem Zorgane, Johnny Cardoso, Harvey Elliott, Xavi Simons, Josh Acheampong and Ko Itakura have got in common?
They all turned down a salary of stale quavers ?

you might get some directly after games shitting on every player but these are long after games and after the season. There’s no hyperbole really just describing what his games about. It’s more likely that’s what he is as a player. They rate Bowen and a couple others. I mean if people have actually watched whole games(I know) it is a pretty accurate description of him.

All of our players got worse, if Elliot was playing in our team last season then people would want him sold or thrown on the scrap heap.

It's real prisoner of the moment stuff in here sometimes...Elliot is a good young player on form coming off a good tournament but its laugabale to suggest that he's better than Kulusevski.

3 G/A in the league and he didn't even feature in half of Liverpool's matches last season.

I think the sun has got to a lot of people's heads in here man 😭
Elliot did well in the U23 tourney. Not sure how that form translates back into the real world.

We identify a position that we need filling. We compile a list of players for that position. We put out feelers to all of those players’ agents. We then look at which of those players are nearly out of contract or those who are with clubs that need to sell because of PSR not necessarily the best player or the manager’s choice.

Close. You are on the right track. As you probably know that is the long list of players that according to various publications have already been linked with Spurs in this transfer window with still 3 months to go. These unaccountable journo tossers are stealing a living making unsubstantiated claims and are a good reminder to everyone why you should never believe a word that any of the press say about anything. Not sure it is a good use of anyone’s time on here speculating about new signings when the rumours are mostly made up shit. Personally I wouldn’t give these charlatans the steam off my piss

spurs have always been an easy bit of work for the journos to whip up a bit of bullshit for.

I think Kudus is a good signing. He’s not an excellent signing but if we can save money on him compared to Mbeumo and Eze (both of whom I’m not convinced are worth £70m and tons of wages) and really go after a top 6 then I’m OK with it. He’s a great dribbler, will help our ball retention massively, versatile, has goals and a final ball in him.

Importantly he’s a left footed right winger with pace. We haven’t had that in ages.

Definitely happy if we do get him, but only if it allows us to kick on to go get a real difference-maker in midfield.
Have we been linked to any difference-maker in midfield?

Think it's wishful thinking tbh.

Tel, Kudus and cheap punt from Europe in midfield will be our lot.

He's a good player in the "real world" too. He has generally looked good for Liverpool when he has played, his issue has been injuries preventing a consistent run. He played 34 times for a title challenging Liverpool side last season and contributed to 9 goals in a tidy midfielder role. This season he looked set to do well but then an early injury and it was only towards the end of it he was fit.

He needs a move and to not be injured but the quality has always been there with him, he was unbelievable in the championship at a very young age and has racked up 92 appearances for a generally title challenging Liverpool side at the age of 22.

Comparisons to Kulu are dishonest. Give Elliott 2400 minutes in the Prem and a more key role and he hits at a minimum similar numbers whilst not lumbering about and losing the ball every five minutes either. Kulu has had one good season for Parma in Italy and two excellent half seasons for us. That's it. He's just had more of a platform in a worse side.
