Anyone know if Sofifa is a reliable source of info? According to their MGW profile, he had a release clause of €66.2M in 'May 21, 2025' (click 'History Version' to select that date). If so, then knowledge of the existence of a clause—and some sense of its value—were already in the public domain.

This is actually very intresting if it has been speculated about online before Forest don't have a leg to stand on.

Wait he was???? What did ange do?
Ange and Marinakis were both at the Greek football awards this week. Ange was honoured for being the first Greek coach to win a European trophy.

Ange Postecoglou served as the guest of honour at the draw for the 2025/25 Greek Super League, with the Greek Australian coach celebrated with an award by the League’s President, Evangelos Marinakis, in recognition of his stellar accomplishments.
Postecoglou, who became the first Greek and Australian coach to win a European trophy by winning the Europa League with Tottenham, was invited to feature at the championship draw which he considered a great honour.
Yeah....I don't like this at all.

I’d be more surprised if Ange didn’t try and stir it. It’s safe to say there’s no love lost between him and Levy. Bet Ange ends up at the city ground sometime next season when Nuno’s had enough of that owner/been sacked.

No...he told Marnakis that Johnson told Spurs the exact amount to bid for his buddy. That's why Levy miraculously guessed the exact amount plus ten pence triggering the sale.......
And then it becomes word against word unless there is written proof like texts or such if that is the case.

I think that the likeliest explanation is still that someone at CAA ran their mouth.

And in both scenarios, the fault will lie with MGW/his agency unless there is bullet proof evidence that Spurs asked Brennan (to continue your example) to dig around about the release clause.
