At the same age Kinsky is being sought on loan by Europa League participant Lille and Josh Keeley has been bought by League One Luton Town. And Kinsky has obviously rare ability with his feet, what that money was for is staring us right in the face. I will take that bet all day long.
Judge the window when it's over. We are certainly not in the position anymore that we got to under the Levy/Hitchen/Poch mess where we'd have done literally nothing by mid-August.
We need further business. We'll do further business. The overall level of expenditure will be unacceptable, but that's on Levy's desk. Judge how well Lange has done with the budget he has once he's done it.

All well and good calling people clowns, but you're saying that he's there to sign young players. He's our head of recruitment, of he can't sign senior players to go along with the young guys he's signed, and while we're at it, he just signed Tel, who looked like he had two left feet on loan, for stupid money. Kinsky for decent money. So he's not focused on the most important part of recruitment to a team that "wants to win the league". Odd.
Maybe they should spend less time talking, and you know, do something.
Edit: Also, we've signed what looks like one first rate younger player, with question big marks around each of the rest. And dropping close to £150m to do so.

That will look a bit foolish though if Bergvall, Solanke and Odobert are driving forward a team looking to have renewed optimism and purpose under Frank, right?
The club has no intention whatsoever of competing to win the PL or CL, that is blaring in our faces every single day. We the fans are mad about that, as we should be.
But the culprit of that crime is one guy, it's very clear, and it is not Johan Lange.
If Lange and Frank can push this team to look something like they belong as a Champions League participant despite a resource allocation that ought to have them falling flat on their faces, that speaks well of their performance despite nicking 5th and a few nice midweek days out not being a worthy ambition for the club and its ticket prices.

Tel has been discussed and if you don’t understand that the evidence so far isn’t sufficient to draw strong conclusions then stick to colouring between the lines.

He's clearly good at data-led scouting and finding value in youth, but he’s been promoted to sporting director which requires a deal-making skillset he simply doesn’t have. He’s a senior scout in over his head as a big boy Sporting Director.
Needs binning so badly. The club won’t progress until we get a serious sporting director. Lange is not that.

Also, that is a quote from COYS, Daniel himself. He said that winning the league was the benchmark, not me.
And spending the fee you could get a world class player for, on one good player, is exactly why we'll never match those ambitions that the bald one voluntarily stated.

Otherwise, just recruiting talent and wanting to take credit for it 2 rough seasons and likely 2 managers later… that’s not good recruitment

Good recruitment is getting greater value than the money you spend, that's really all there is to it.
Even more so than the incomings, judge this at the end of the window.
Solomon is a tough case. An injured guaranteed social media crisis is a tough deal to get over the line. Cmonnnnnn Leeds.
He's the Technical Director. If he's just doing identification of players through data I can close one eye. I assumed Paratici will be back as Sporting Director. Yet he seems to just disappear after his ban is over. The recruiting system is a mess.

But you can't hold Lange accountable for not building a squad worthy of winning the Premier League when he hasn't been given anywhere near the resources to do so.
He's been given the resources to have us in the European places, judge him by that standard. And maybe even more than that he's been given a brief to develop young talent over time, so the progress of Bergvall, Gray, Tel, Odobert, etc deserves particular focus.
