A host of Premier League sides alongside Nottingham Forest are interested in former Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton, now at Lyon.
According to Team Talk, Tyler Morton is emerging as a big target for at least four Premier League sides, including Nottingham Forest. Sean Dyche’s side are anticipating a sale of Elliot Anderson next summer, which may see them pursue the former Liverpool midfielder now at Lyon, as the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle United and Everton are also keen.Tyler Morton, who left Liverpool back in the summer to join Lyon in a reported 15 million deal, could be back in the Premier League within 12 months of his departure. The midfielder has excelled in France since his move, as a host of English sides are angling to sign him next summer.
Nottingham Forest are among those interested in signing Morton, as they are potentially anticipating Manchester United-linked Elliot Anderson’s departure next summer. Hence, they are eager to land Morton as a potential replacement, although they face ample competition for the former Liverpool midfielder.
Tottenham are considering their own move for Morton, as an alternative to the expensive Carlos Baleba and probably Adam Wharton. The latter is seen as a prime target for Spurs, although Crystal Palace’s asking price could prove prohibitive. Incidentally, Palace are also interested in Morton as they too are anticipating a change in their midfield.
Newcastle United have been interested in landing a new midfielder since last summer, and amid links to former star Anderson, they are unlikely to spend big. Everton are the other club interested in the former Liverpool midfielder, as they could potentially see the value in landing the Lyon star.

You can believe that historically if you like, but look at it in the context of a player looking at which club to join, they pay the bigger wages, they have won so much more than we have over recent years (in spite of how hollow you or I may judge those victories to be), and they are likely to continue to win much more than us for the foreseeable future.
And in 50 years time, those trophies they have won in this era will see them on paper as being a massive club.
You can sit Semenyo down at the table and sell him on us being bigger than City by showing him the trophies from when we won the double last century.

I'm just arguing with Man City being considered the bigger club. Especially by our own fans.
In 50 years their owners may have come and gone and they could be a yo-yo club again and find their natural place in the food chain.... once again bouncing between the top two divisions.

This is true in some metrics, unfortunately when it comes to the pecking order in terms of attracting players to the club they win out.
It can be comforting to some extent to sit back and claim ourselves as "bigger", but it means less and less as time goes by with things as they are.
Were they to be stripped of their titles, punished for their alleged wrongdoings, and neutered going forwards, it would be a very quick slide back to obscurity for them I would agree.

Final is on 18 January.
I think this time only Sarr (Senegal) and Bissouma (yet to play this season) will be going so Spurs are not too badly affected. Ghana did not qualify so Kudus stays at Spurs
Fixtures missed include :
Liverpool H 20 Dec PL
Palace (A) 28 Dec PL
4 PL matches in January (Brentford A, Sunderland H, Bournemouth A, Wham H) plus possibly not fit for Dortmund (CL) on 20 Dec.
I also doubt if players will want to play v Notts Forest A on December 14, day before they can join up with countries.
There will be either one or two FA Cup matches in early January quite likely to be missed.
So I doubt if our January transfer plans will be affected by Afcon 2025/26

It's annoying how little chance we give home growns compared to useless minutes on players we know won't make it (Johnson, Tel, Odobert etc).
