Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've been banging on about signing Kenan Yildiz. He can play across the front 4 positions and would walk into our team.
Sign him and get rid of Johnson and I'll be on cloud 9
Many people have, it’s not an out there scouting take. The chance of us signing him is slim to none though, he’s absolutely obviously going to be world class and if he’s available we will be way down the pile to sign him.

Tel wasn’t even a punt, it was obvious he wasn’t good enough to improve the team from the loan but we signed him anyway.
It's annoying, and the same mentality that gave Werner another loan.

Surely the point of a loan is not only to fill a gap in the squad but it's a good way to assess if the player would be a good option for the club for a longer term. I mean if it's not working out, you just say thanks for the loan and goodbye.

It's a bit like giving a car a test run, finding out it's not suitable, and then purchasing it. I can only think the club are trying to keep good relations with Bayern, maybe it's a way of having first refusal on players they don't need. I can't think of any other reason the club signed Tel.

Postecoglou said Tel would be a Spurs player the following season before Tel even kicked a ball on his loan half season.

Solanke's been training with the rest of the team, so maybe that's put an end for any need to get a striker in January. I doubt Richarlison will want to move before the summer, he's put not bad numbers up so far and with the World Cup on the horizon. If that is inspiring him then so be it.

Come the summer I'd be happy if the club replaced both Solanke and Richarlison.
Yeah maybe wait for Samu in the summer

Yeah maybe wait for Samu in the summer

The problem is, if you wait to the summer, you’re gonna have competition for him. Someone’s gonna be needing a striker, and the market’s not exactly flush with available players.

If the club really feel he’s the one for us, just go get him now. January’s not a great window to buy players in, but is a way to get a jump on teams ahead of the summer, as most don’t like to spend big money at this time of year.

If it pushes Solanke down the pecking order, then so be it. He can’t expect us to just wait in the hope that he’ll get fit at some point. Likewise with Richy and Muani, if it puts their noses out of joint, then they should’ve done better when they had the opportunityx

What’s Savinho actually shown though? He would be another Punt , if we are shopping at City get Marmoush
To get Marmoush, we'd need to make him the 2nd highest paid player in the League.

You pay that for an absolute stone cold guarantee. A 30 league goal/assist a season man.

He'd need to earn double Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son ever did with us.

That's before even speaking to City about a fee (£70m plus).

We're talking about a £200m outlay on a player that's done about as much in this League as Kevin Schade or Nick Woltemade.

Oh, who would still then be being fed scraps from the shite we have behind and next to him.

That is a lot of wages , I just don’t see anything in Savinho that says he is anything more than a prospect , and if rumours are true we was offering a small fortune to try and get him in the last window.
If we are breaking our transfer record I don’t want it to be on another punt , we need someone that can come in from day 1 and make an impact - obviously thats easier said than done

I think the price of Savinho will have dropped considerably from the summer.

I mentioned the other day his numbers are nowhere as bad as made out when you take them in minutes he's played rather than appearances.

This is unfair as he's been sub for nearly half of those getting 20mins or so. He's got a reasonable number of assists from those.

He's also got 5 goals and 16 assists.

He's better than everything we have at LW and we aren't getting better in Jan.

What I am disappointed in, is Endrick going to Lyon. We should have been in for him.
21 G/A in 48 appearances I think it is.

I want whichever player is best suited to long aimless balls forward

Maybe he will be. But I don’t think your second statement is true in football anymore. Teams do spend megamoney on players that haven’t done it consistently now. Ekitike, Sesko & Woltemade are all examples of that. Or maybe it’s just a case that £60-70m isn’t considered “mega-money” by top clubs anymore. Either way, that’s the going rate for top Premier League clubs buying highly rated young players nowadays.

Semenyo’s only really hit form the last season and a half and he’s going for 65. Wharton and Anderson will go for around 100m and they’re not exactly veterans with 150 PL games under their belt.
United have been writing off flops for decades.
Ekitike has been decent. Woltemade seems okay so far.

We go and blow £80m on a player who has no history you know full well he flops.

EPL: 42 app / 2239min / 1G / 12A

.....And that's with the comfortable footing of the entire ManC machine around him.

Whereas he'd be expected to come here and elevate us.
