You must not have watched the United or Chelsea games then because they deserved to win both, arguably.

I did watch them. I also watched them yesterday need 120 minutes to scrape past a League One side that’s fighting relegation. I’ve seen us play well and come away with nothing too.

That’s kind of the point. With 12 games left, “nice performances” are irrelevant. Deserving to win doesn’t put points on the table. Required results, required points per game, and what actually ends up on the board are what matter. I’ve said that already.

If deserving to win mattered, more clubs would be higher in the table, unfortunately it’s the boring bit that actually counts.

We kick off after all of the teams around us next weekend. Most have tough games. Let’s hope they all drop points and we get the shock win v Woolwich. Mood on here will be much improved.

Honestly, even a fighting draw next weekend will be a huge boost to us

My biggest concern atm is we have the worst form and most injuries with a temporary head coach with no EPL experience
ENIC sure need to fuck off
If they don't we definitely get relegated next season, even this season is a distinct possibility

Something worth being aware of is that next season sees the new Financial rules come in.

Squad-Cost Rules (SCR) sees a cap on-pitch spending—wages, transfers, and agents' fees—at 85% of a clubs football related revenue.

The 85% is actually 70% for clubs in Europe.

As far as I recall, the clubs with the highest income and lowest wage bill will have the biggest advantages going forward.

Of course clubs that get relegated see the above mean very little and are not 85% compliant but 100% fucked 👍

After mass today, a parishioner pointed out that they thought they felt a drop of water. We had a look and noticed a small wet patch on the floor, under a figurine of Mary. We couldn't see anything coming from the ceiling, and the priest said that maybe Mary was crying. I said she must be a Spurs supporter!

If results go our way (which would be nice), then our game will matter a lot less.

Bournemouth taking something from West Ham would be great.

They’ve just won away to us
With Bruno in their side up until 1-2
In the FA Cup. Assume Villa (who are wobbling) made changes.
an have a decent manager - they won’t be anywhere near it.
At the very least we need Bruno back for them by April. Their league games are very much of interest to us from then on
Palace, Bournemouth, Arse, Brighton, Forest, Spam.
So if they aren't down with us by then, we'd be better off with them hitting form and taking points from all the the teams they play

Thanks :)

I’d like to think Tudor’s approach can shift the mentality from being on the floor to actually wanting to play and enjoy football again. Injuries have been brutal, no question, but the risk of more is the same for our rivals. A bit of bad luck for them i.e. key players out, then suddenly our depth matters in comparison. Do Forest, West Ham, Leeds really have the squad to cover if one of their main men drops like we have had to? Probably not.

Injuries and mentality remain our weak points, of course. With a different manager, we can’t rely on the past as a guide, so every week now is a fresh test, and the team we see could be completely different from what we’ve been used to. Our form and results could change too. For example, Woolwich might be a loss, but perhaps a free hit. Get a win or even just a positive performance, against the odds and that could springboard the next game on possibilities.

When we stay up with points to spare I will carry you on my shoulders and shower you with mead, honey and wenches to your heart's desire. 😍

Of course if we go down I'll blame you personally. I will come for you. I will hunt you down....

Sure, they’ve been competitive in a few games, had a couple of good results but moments and trends aren’t the same as actually getting the points-per-game you need. We’ve had our own moments too, where points gained or lost could easily have been different. Maybe they will stay up, but then we still have three other teams in the mix with us. To overtake us, their PPG would need around a 40% improvement while we stay static.

I’m not trying to excuse the situation we’re in, it’s rubbish and it’s worrying. I’m just adding some context and stats to help people step away from the emotion and see it in a different, more analytical way. I personally think that with a change in manager it will massively change the way we approach and deal with games to be more of an upward trajectory compared to if we were to have stuck.
If we lose to Woolwich and they beat Bournemouth next weekend that’s a 11 point swing in 6 games - that’s an absolutely monumental swing.

Their PPG since the start of the year pisses all over ours

They’re on 36 points and currently 10th they aren’t getting dragged into this. They have 5 relatively straight forward home games and are in steady form. They need 4-6 points - I will take any bet they stay up
