Good question. We need themWith the EFL season ending shortly, are we able to take back any of the loan players and have them in the squad for the final 3 games? Devine / Lankshire etc ?
To go down Newcastle have to lose 4 games in a row, and we have to win at least 3. They'll be fine, but could plausibly come 16th or 17th.They Play Brighton which I think they lose, then its Forest and West ham so they are very much involved in this , still knowing the way this season is going they will pick up 3 against Brighton, get mathematically safe and then lose against West ham and Forest!

We certainly need to plan with a bigger squad from the beginning.Looking at our injury list, will we even have a full squad for next season?
I think its unrelated, a lot of the players got injured away. Probably more to do with small squad (because of injuries) taking its toll.Quick question. What percentage of our long term injuries have occurred at our home ground? I suspect the retractable pitch may have a lot to do with our big injury lists over the past few seasons.

I don't think they will lose 4 in a row, however the fact they are playing 2 other teams who could leap frog them with a win and contribute to 50% of them 4 losses could make things a bit interesting , any way I think we just need to worry about what we can do and take it 1 game at a time, Beating Villa , thats all we should be worried about , do that and then Worry about beating Leeds. To go down Newcastle have to lose 4 games in a row, and we have to win at least 3. Have free kick specialists become a thing of the past in the Premier League? I just checked and Liverpool are top with 4 free kick goals this season, Leeds are second with 3, Then there's three teams with 2, the rest are 1s or 0s.

There's only 5 teams that have scored more than 1 free kick this season.

It's only been the last two seasons when we've had an unusual amount of injuries, there were some under Postecoglou's first season, and Conte, Mourinho but not at this rate, I think are injuries were about normal in professional football then.

So what, that means nothing...
I genuinely think we have just been unfathomably unlucky. The kind that talks of issues beyond misfortune but ultimately are simply sets of unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances.
What is unforgivable is the response from the Chuckle brothers at the helm.

My theory is the injuries have been caused by mental stress brought on by players being intimidated by our own stadium, which carries through to the away games too.
This is an interesting article linked below.
Stress and Its Impact on Sports Injuries - Is there a link?
Many sports injuries occur through a physical factor. But how does stress influence the likelihood of sustaining an injury?www.londonbridgeorthopaedics.co.uk
We have a big time stadium and small time players. When Son and Kane were here, it gave the other players a sense of belonging in such a stadium, since those first few matches we had without Kane, the performances have got worse except for occasional good performances we've been sliding, when it became obvious that Son was no longer as capable as he was, the rest of the players have become timid.
I think they're anxious about being not good enough for the stadium, it's causing mental stress, and injuries, not just because of muscle tension but mistiming tackles, lunging, pretty much not being composed.
I tend to agree and have little doubt the pressure of playing for us and struggling adds to the injury issues.
That's why next season, whichever league, a lot of thought needs to go into what players we buy, but without 1 or 2 very very good players (easier if we are in the Championship to acquire), we will probsbly see more of the same.
