Match **** Tottenham Hotspur v Everton 4pm Sunday 24th Of May ****

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Everton football club and their supporters . They came not giving a shit , no banter from their fans , their players were on the beach , literally couldn’t have asked for more . Yes last 10 was nervy but that’s cos we retreated to the edge of our box but they couldn’t have been kinder to us .
Thank them for being shite but they put the effort in - think RDZ deserves credit for getting us so organised and solid.
Agree their fans were shocking unlike the Leeds fans who proper rinsed them sad gits at the London stadium 👏

I agree this match was more important than the Europa win but not more memorable. I seem to recall several close encounters with relegation in the 90's but cannot recall how close we came or any detail. I think in time as long as we keep well clear of relegation in the next couple of years I will banish this match from my memory. However I still remember all our Cup triumphs.

Shit season aside, what a great day out that was on Sunday, great weather, great atmosphere outside hours before kickoff, great atmosphere all game, was proud to be a Spurs fan, thank you Nuno for delivering on your promise 😂

Been watching so many replays of the Palhinha goal. I love the celebration. Think it has shades of Raddy Antic rescuing Luton and sending Man City down all those years ago (one for the older folks here perhaps).

Even in less than ideal circumstances this will be an iconic Spurs moment for me I'll never forget.
I keep thinking about how close it was to another “damn, that was close!!!” Moment.

Great corner, great header, but square on the post. A rare bit of good luck, it coming right back to JP. Him sorting his feet quickly, nudging it over.

I also think how close it was to Danso as the hero! The ball is inches over the line, but Big Kev was there for the rebound just in case!

We came 14th 1998 4 points more than position 18th. IIRC we signed Klinsmann for a second time and he helped us out of that tricky situation.

If there is any positive from this season it is that iron sharpens iron. Our players have now played two do or die games with their backs against the wall in back to back seasons. The players that remain for next season should hopefully be more comfortable with riding games like this out. Which should be a positive if we find ourselves on deep cup runs in the future.
