Good player but a fair number of question marks remain, not least can he make the transition.
If we didn't already have 3 or 4 youngsters and two. 17th placed finishes it would seem too good a possibility to decline, but....

He wants to work, turned their season around, when it looked hopeless. It's ridiculous that he wouldn't be offered the job if he wanted it, he's earned that much.
I dunno man, I don't think so. I think of you're physically able to, and there's a want to do it, then have it. There won't be many people his age that have that drive anymore, especially at the top level. And it's a cut throat business, if he gets dotey, he'll be gone without hesitation.Understand, amd agree.
That's not really my point
It's much more about there needing to be an age in my opinion where the law no longer allows it (work),outside of extremis, and I'm not necessarily talking those people who are self-employed, which might be a cop out on my part
It's not going to happen, so it's just my view.

He will be ok for them, nothing ground shaking. He's a skilful player but me thinks the step up will be too much.Good player but a fair number of question marks remain, not least can he make the transition.

Good luck to the lad, though![]()
Think its more likely to go the otherway, work till you drop for most.Understand, amd agree.

Massive loss for Chelsea. Ngumoha probably the highest potential player in Chelsea's academy and one of the best England u16s.

I have seen him play many times in the Bundesliga last season, he made it to the Bundesliga's team of the season. He scored six goals, in twenty eight appearances, this at just nineteen years of age.
Then again we could always bring on Davies in an emergency, be it an injury, or suspension.
And before you say the Bundesliga is a weaker league then why are so many other teams interested in him?
I’d be interested to know what age you are. I don’t have any axe to grind on the topic of a mandatory retirement age. I retired when I was 48 because I was lucky enough to be in a position to be able to do it and, being a lazy bollix, I was happy not to work.![]()
Celtic manager search: Martin O'Neill agrees to take job on permanent basis after Dermot Desmond talks
Celtic won a domestic double under Martin ONeill after he returned to the club; the 74-year-old took over on an interim basis from Brendan Rodgers and then replaced Wilfried Nancy until the end of last season; Celtic also held talks with Robbie Keane over the rolewww.skysports.com
Ridiculous in my opinion.
I know we don't do politics on here, and this is somewhat different to the wider piece, but I think a retirement age of 65 - 68 should be inplace, and probably with a slightly higher state pension. I know a lot of people still feel fit and able but that's a very different debate.
Much as there is this belief that older workers don't block the paths of the young, I think there is a really big issue with older workers, who society need to try and find ways to keep entertained, outside of filling the job spaces/opportunities the young need to be occupying.
And I know, I know. O'Neil signing as manager of Celtic is different but he is doing it because he is bored and needs a purpose, and whilst a fair number of older workers will say they are doing it for money, I remain somewhat unconvinced about that argument.
I expect this post to be deleted but it's off my chest.

Now, nearly 25 years later, I’m fully compos mentis, in so far as I ever was, run two marathons a year and would, if I was arsed, be well able to be productive in the workplace. I suspect there are plenty of older workers whose breadth of experience in both life and work would leave their workplace diminished should they be arbitrarily supplanted by a younger, inexperienced, replacement.
As for O’Neill, I think he’s mad to have taken the job. He came in like a shining Knight, twice, last season. Each, he time cleaned up the unholy mess left, first by Rodgers, and then by Nancy. He ended up winning the double in unbelievable fashion. That was the time to sail off into the sunset and forever be a legend. Now, the only way is down. Hubris is a terrible thing.
