1882 movement...

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The only thing that I can remember that was maybe ill advised was people chanting "you used to sing down there" to the Park lane. It was technically no worse than singing "Paxton give us a song" but it rubbed peoples backs up so it wasn't good.

I'm assuming that you are referring to last seasons league cup tie against Hull.
I got the complete opposite in terms of reaction.
What initially was confined to Block J,soon expanded to pretty much all of the Park Lane and Block H in terms of a "sing off". Surely that is the whole point.
I didn't witness anyone getting rubbed up the wrong way or get annoyed by it.
Obviously I couldn't hear individual comments coming from Park Lane, but I think the general consensus from the East Upper that night was positive.

The first paragraph was a quote from an earlier post from S.L.R. Not sure why it appeared like a new post. I was just responding to that part of the post. :pochfacepalm:

Having been to most of the 1882s, I'd have to say that it really comes into its own for the youth team matches. The chanting can get so much funnier and more inventive, and the players really appreciate the effort. The first team ones are very different - the singing can feel a lot more forced, and I always get the feeling that half of the stadium are just looking at us thinking 'what the fuck are they doing?'. It's still great fun though.

Saturday was admittedly the worst one I can remember - I think as the movement is getting more widely known it's just attracting a lot of people who want to stand there with us and take in the atmosphere rather than actually helping to create it.

As for the drunkenness, pissing in sinks etc - as others have said, it's nothing compared to the average away day!
It's better to piss in a sink than on the terraces as used to happen when I started going to Tottenham.

Also happened at Wembley in the Milk Cup Final against Liverpool. The Tottenham end was properly overcrowded and it was nigh on impossible to get out for a piss. Thankfully, I had great bladder capacity back then.

Nah it was wrt one of the early Europa games last season, Maribor or someone possibly I can't remember.

I thought it was just some good sarcasm. If someone actually got pissed off by it, i think they need to stop taking themselves so seriously.

Actually thats something i'd say about a lot of fans. Stop taking it so seriously and just enjoy yourself. Then things like 1882 wouldn't need to exist.
