Yes. I think loaning out Dier would be crazy. He is versatile and is good enough to play for us now and be a star in the future.
Wouldn't it be better for him to play 30+ games at a PL club? He's only just 21.

I can't be the only one who got infuriated seeing him paired with Vertonghen last season, he was so conservative in his play that seemingly 80+% of his passes when to Lloris or Jan which really slowed down the tempo and took the sting out of so many counter attacks.

Have to disagree with this. I would like to see both Dier and Wimmer backing up Alderwiereld and Vertonghen.

I see no reason why either of Wimmer / Dier could not break in and be 1st 11, and on paper at least (As I haven't seen much of Wimmer) , Dier and Wimmer seems like a pair you would have confidence in when playing in the cups etc.

I would rather Fazio and Wimmer, allow Dier to improve his all round ability somewhere he can start so he can become good in the air, the likelihood is that Wimmer, Vertonghen, Alderweireld (and for that matter Chiriches and Kaboul) are inferior to Fazio in the air.

For all he offers in height I didn't think Fazio was that good in the air last season. Maybe I am wrong but I remember being a little disappointed by it as he should have been a beast..

He was very impressive UNTIL he disappeared during the second half of July, then February then March, returned not match sharp against an inform Benteke who got over him. Other than that for the most Fazio was to a degree immense and he went months without losing an arial duel.

Surely with United signing Schniederlin and Schweinsteiger there will be some midfield outgoings from them?

You'd imagine Carrick, Herrera and Fellaini will be looking to play 1st team. Id be a bit hesitant on Fellaini, he can sometimes cause more trouble for your own team than the opposition. I'd happily take Carrick back, he'd offer so much still and would pass on some great experience to Bentaleb, Mason, Winks and the rest.

Herrera is a bit more attacking but he looks class on the ball.

Good shout that, although I doubt United would sell to us until after we play them.

If he were to become available, I'd definitely take Carrick back for a year or so.

I fear this season and my genuine worry is finishing outside the TOP 10!!!!!!
Cabaye for 10m to Palace!! That is a steal and the type of player we are crying out for someone creative in the middle of the park who knows where the goal is.
Also desparately need some genuine competition/cover/partner for Kane he cant be expected to do the same again next season (although heres hoping he can), Sissoko?? Cisse??Chichirito?? or my choice Dzeko??(maybe not realistic)

not a fan of fazio got sent off twice in his 1st few games struggled with pace of prem. he is clearly not comfortable on the ball makes way too many mistakes because of this

On of those was in the Europa. Look I think we all know he is slow and no one is suggesting he should start however when we're against the likes of of bottom half team in the Prem and we've got our backs to the wall having him on just to head most of the barrage of crosses is a very reassuring thing to have.

We have creativity in Eriksen and Lamela, the thing we lack most in midfield is defensive cover, which is why we conceded so many last year. We need someone like we had in Scott Parker who can sit and sweep up any danger in midfield..

I agree we need to sign another striker, but out of those you have listed, who is going to be happy to play second fiddle to Kane? I mena we can't drop him and we don't play a 2 striker system. Dzeko will be on silly wages and will want 1st team football, Hernandez will only leave Utd for 1st team football and Cisse isn't good enough.

I'd still take a punt on Austin. I think he'd be happy to wait for his chance, and he has the chance to play in Europe, with a team that is growing which will only improve his England chances
