Unfortunately unless we have a youth player or two that explodes like Harry did, we'll be a long way off of the top 4. The last couple of transfer window our competition has brought in the likes of Ozil, Sanchez, Costa, Fabregas, Depay, Schweinsteiger, Matic, Di Maria, Sterling, Benteke, Ings etc. Meanwhile we bring in Trippier, Davies, Vorm, Stambouli, Alli, Fazio, and alderwield but expect to compete with the team's loaded with world class players. Its just not realistic to think we can come anywhere near those guys. Because let's face it, without Kane scoring 20+ goals last season we do not finish anywhere near 5th.

Agree.
It's a romantic thought, us building a squad from youth players and relatively unknown players and all, but we've established ourselves as a top 5 club, pushing on for top 4, and it would be stupid to let go now.
We have to bring in some definite quality if we want to compete on the short term.

Recruitment team. ...ASSEMBLE!:pochohshit:

It's like Ocean's Eleven, init?
No I think its a bit more like Lord of the Rings:

:pochohshit: You now serve the White Fist of Tottenham! Go out and get me my players, and we need them alive!

Yes master!

I really don't, no, but surely Kramer more than Reus, though.

Ah, you're forgiven then:ade:
In context, yes Kramer is probably more gettable than Reus. But Leverkusen won't sell, unless we offer £20,000,00+ - he's a very good footballer, back at Leverkusen from two successful loans at Gladbach and they have Champions League football this season.

Said it time and time again. We won't finish top 4 this year or next. Not really any need to worry about it. 5th and a cup is the best we can get with the current situation.

Doesn't make it any easier seeing Levy sit on money and not spend though...thought things would have been far different than this. We're swimming in money, cut off huge amounts of wages and he's still going for 0 net spend.

Let's give it another month before we jump to such conclusions.

Edit: although it does scare me a tad the way our competition has strengthened.

The fact is we didn't sign another player during this window and sat bottom of the league at the start of September there are plenty on here who would still try and justify our embarrassing transfer policy. To many Levy is God. He can do no wrong. I just don't get it.
