Pochie should be announcing that "official new signing" by later today or tomorrow. The reason I know Kane isn't going anywhere is because I'm pretty sure rule #1 of transfer rumor writing is, "Every good striker must be linked with Woolwich or Man United."
 
The Kane to Utd story is pathetic. Any journalist worth his/her salt wouldn't realise we only have 1 striker (just like Utd!) and debunk the whole thing. Man Utd fans will be lapping up the rumours, bunch of delusional arseholes. They're just selling papers. Kane sells.

I don't see Rooney being linked away...and Kane is 10x the clubman that cunt is.

Yup of course we have to take into consideration the selling club but as the season is underway & our squad failings are apparent for all to see it plays into their hands, doesn't it? I do worry that we are concentrating on a couple of players & that puts the ball firmly in the sellers hands. Everyone & his bulldog know Soldado is off & Ade is as useful as a chocolate teapot so won't be used , everyone knows we have Kane & no back up. By leaving it late ( In my opinion) has not been advantageous to us one bit & it'll make it harder as the window shuts.

100% agree with the farcical time the window shuts though. Now that is stupid

Agree with all of that except for the notion that we/Levy is leaving it late.

We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, who exactly we are after or who is holding things up.

Levy said early on that we would try and get deals done as early as possible but as with the nature of the window a lot of deals won't get finalised until the last couple of weeks.

He's been completely open about that yet people are still moaning at him for not getting deals done earlier.

People act as if it's uniquely Levy that is involved in doing deadline day deals. It's the format that dictates this not Levy.

Then we are in trouble. If he gave up on Berahino now and bought Austin cause he's gettable the same people will be crucifying him for not getting Berahino tho.

Yup but we seem to be in the same situation year on year & it certainly doesn't help us . I think we're unique in that aspect.

£20 on Shaqiri putting a goal past us on the weekend. I'm actually relatively happy with N'Jie if we do end up getting him - although there are more obvious signings out there. Initially I was keen on Berahino; but it's being dragged out and WBA are talking silly money for a player who could still flop.

But yeah, why we haven't moved for Shaqiri is beyond me. Just because he didn't make it at Bayern, doesn't mean that he has to go to fucking Stoke. Hopefully, Levy choked over this whilst he was having his breakfast of champagne and caviar and is going to sneak a cheeky bid in that offers Shaqiri an extra few quid and 20% off vouchers at Sainsbury's.
