Looks to me like a low budget Gareth Bale to Real Madrid saga to me. We bought players for big money before selling him and came out and said we werent selling him.

Fast forward the end of the window and what we all knew would happen happened. Bale was sold.

West Brom have done exactly the same. We will sign Berahino but it will be the very last day.

Afraid we can't wait until the last day though.

So would I. Fed up with 2 defensive midfield formation with inverted wingers. The classic 4-4-2 formation be it having 1 striker slightly behind worked wonders with harry. We were fast, exciting and had an actual identity

Lloris

Tripper. Toby. Verts. Rose

Mason

Njie. Eriksen

Ali

Berahino. Kane

I like the idea, but that team would simply get overrun by any opponents with a clue. We would be entertaining to watch though.

On top of that, he has scored prolifically at every level he's played.

Total no brainer for me.

I scored loads at U16 level and then progressed to score at the local adult 5 a side league and in the adult sunday league. Sign me up. :allitongue:

What is the point of going in with bids now. We missed that boat once again when we should of gone for him weeks ago. All this haggling now will lead to nothing. The only way Berahino will come to us is if he kicks up a fuss which I don't think he will now he has rid of that agent. Levy playing it late again and will fail to get our targets. I now expect some shit alternative to Berahino on transfer deadline day

Yet more absolutely criminal bollocks. Sign a fucking player Levy, it's not about you and saving a fiver for billionaire Joe.

No DM, no creative CM & still no striker....your a fucking joke.

Stick your planning application where the sun don't shine. If it was all about Stadiums size Spewcastles 52,000 would have them above us !

I can sense us reading his annual mugging off in September with a "we tried really hard to get a deal across the line...the coach is happy with the ( piss poor ) quality of the squad !"

Seen all this before and it ends with Dempsey or much worse Campbell on loan !

Also, let's just bask in the retrospective fuckwittery, shall we?

Yep - we all know how this plays out

the player will be "not focused enough to play" soon enough....

It's at least reassuring that we are very interested in Berahino. The only worrying aspect is that the top clubs realise what the market is, what you need to offer. Benteke, Sanchez, Depay....if you want a player, pay the money.

Maybe Levy is wary after having his fingers burnt before but frankly it's a tad embarrassing how most supporters can name our chairman and join in with the Levy rhetoric. We won't even get talking to Berahino until we bid at least £20m...and I still think the eventual figure will be more.

We still have a fair bit to wrap up before the window shuts in 13 days. If we don't then we are in for a fucking average season

Mateo Kovacic: Real Madrid sign Inter Milan midfielder
Real Madrid have signed midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Inter Milan for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old Croatia international has signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, where he will be presented to the Real fans on Wednesday.

Kovacic scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 97 games for Inter, whom he joined from Dinamo Zagreb in 2013.

Real, who finished second behind Barcelona in La Liga last season, begin the new campaign on Sunday.

Rafael Benitez's side play at Sporting Gijon in a 19:30 BST kick-off.

Kovacic, who has played 21 times for his country, will join countryman Luka Modric at the club.

Tbf the level of the bid is purely newspaper speculation

He's exactly what we needed. Crazy that Inter is letting him go. Another Coutinho 2.0 move for them.

At least it's not to Pool.

Personally, I have never been as bored watching Tottenham.

We play utterly horrid football.

After a full season I'm still none the wiser as to what Pochettino is trying to achieve. It's fucking terrible.
Sorta agree with you and sammyspurs sammyspurs , not going to pretend last season was filled with great football, the bad did outweigh the good.
I like to think, that I can see where Poch is going with this, trying to emulate the style of football, that was played under him at Southampton. Although it sometimes in matches, might seem as if there's no plan on the pitch, if you listen to his post-match interviews, it's clear what he wants.
