We only have one striker

We only have one DM

We do not have a better squad than last season

We still have Pooch

Reasons to be cheerful Pt 3

Having one striker and Adebayor not being an option is better than having two if last season's Ade is one of them.

We used no DM last year. We played Mason and Bentaleb. We still have them. Obviously, if we still have them, and Dier is being preferred ahead of one of them, that must be seen by the management as an improvement. Not even a halfwit would think one DM is worse than none, if what said halfwit wants is DMs. Capoue and Stambouli don't count, since they were shite and barely played.

We have added a highly rated CB, a good RB, an exciting quick prospect AM/striker, an AM who have performed brilliantly in Bundesliga and a promising CB cover. And we've got the exciting Pritchard back from his loan spell.

Meanwhile we didn't lose anyone that most people didn't want to get rid of, and rid ourselves of lots of disrupting elements who barely played and who didn't do well when they did play.

Improvement.

One would have to try hard to disagree.

serious question, is this the weakest overall squad that we have had in the premier league era, looking at the strength of depth and the actual quality of the majority of the players I would suggest its a possibility
To give more detail, I'd say we actually now have the largest number of above average players we've had for a long time. E.g. in the early-mid nineties we had Klinnsmann then Ginola, but that same squad had some awful dross like Dozzell and Cundy if memory serves. We have very few poor players now if any, but are lacking in stars (the obvious ones we do have being Hugo and Harry, maybe Eriksen) and are missing a couple of vital players.

Show me the proof.
#Harsh

I'm not trawling the internet to prove what he does for charity but its a well known fact he got a 50k a week clause into his city contract for his local govt and people.
He bankrolls his entire hometown and extended family.
Hes had a couple of dips in form and silly decisions in a spurs shirt as well but hes also had a couple of absolutely brilliant spells and helped make us a good team so I think our fans calling him a CUNT all the time is harsh yeah.

Sol Campbell is a cunt, save it for the right people ffs, he could easily come back in and score 15 goals this season but half our 'fans' will prob boo him regardless of what he does.

Really. The last six months Kane has been trying to hard to be the man, to live up to the hype. He is doing ok, working hard, creating some chances, but he isn't what he was when he broke through.

I'm convinced there is a great striker in Chadli.

The latter is good cover. Kane should still be our main man, hopefully he can get a goal, relax, and start playing his natural game again.

Son is quality and the Bundesliga is probably the best league to come from into the prem-I think he will be a huge success.
Still needed another striker even if Ade is brought back in from the cold.

Its funny cos I dont see us coming 4th, or even 5th this season.

Improvement you say? Talk all the schpeel you want while you close your eyes to the fact that Dier cant seem to handle over an hour in the DM role, or that Kane may very well hit a long running slump.

But improvement will be seen come May, and if this side cant do one better than the side full of all the shit we supposedly just got rid of....then well, what the hell was the point in it?

Then I guess you will wheel out the old "yeah but Liverpool and Utd were much better this season", while turning a blind eye to the shoddy transfer window...like you are now.

Chadli's got 30 goals in him? As fucking laughable as it is disturbing.

Fair points and I'd argue we're one good striker signing away from an excellent transfer window. Shame it was the most important new player that we missed out on.

That's a relief, I was worried we only had one striker.

:akabusi:

Its fine...even if Kane is poor this year
Chadli will do better, so 35-40 goals
Lamela can play there and he cost 5x as much..I make that at least 55 odd from him
Eriksen will be better this year...say, 25 goals?
Plus you have the likes of Mason, Dier etc who will chip in with 18 each or so
And Jan has easily got 12 goals in him, so has Walker actually

Sorted
