Hmm. Hopefully this is a protective-boot job to keep the leg safe while it's swollen, and not an indication of the severity of the injury.

Glad they brought him on the trip though.

The fear was ligament damage, he looked to open up his knee following the elbow. That is not the face of someone who has just suffered ligament damage, this is good news! Fingers still crossed.

As mentioned above if it was serious Jan would not be in Barcelona with the rest of the squad. The good thing is there is nearly 2 weeks until the Norwich game, plenty of time for him to rest and recuperate. Wimmer an able deputy in any case at least, until we face City away.

Update on the Tottenham facebook says:

"Further assessment and scans have confirmed that Jan Vertonghen sustained damage to his medial collateral ligament in his knee at Crystal Palace. Our medical staff will continue to monitor his progress to determine when he will be ready to return to training.

Get well soon, Jan!"

Is that good or bad news?

That's bad right?

Fuck!
Doesn't give details to the extent of damage, if it is a tear then that's an op and him done for the season. So hopping that he has stretched the ligament, if that's the case then it could still be a month or more???
