Picking the bones out of where we lost games is missing the actual point....how many games did we draw to date ? That really is the key. We are essentially 4 goals off being clear at the top. 4 goals. That's the reality of obtaining the 8 points needed to be clear. This is not a team that is going to go backwards. It's only going to get better and even if we finish 2/3 I suspect we can fight for the title again and again, this is not a once in a generation situation. I am not giving up. None of us should ever give up on our team. We should aim to win every game and see where it takes us.

If we get champions league I'll be delighted - the title would be amazing but imagine a summer of football knowing next season will be as good or better and we'll have big European games
I dont get that, if we couldnt manage with the europa where we were fielding weakened teams then how will we manage with playing stronger sides against better opposition.

we did manage the Europa, we just hit a very good side at a critical time. Happened in the cl with Real Madrid, will no doubt happen next season but it will be a great journey and the club will get loads of coin.

We hit a good side yet fielded a weakened side.

Regarding Real will always wonder what might have been had Crouch not seen red.:adewtf:

Gone to make the claim about CL football schedule being easier on the players so won't be as much of a slog as Europa blah, blah, blah....

The players seem to think there is more glory in the Champions League and will all be up for selection. Assuming of course we are in that next season.

I just want this season to end on a high note for us, the club, the coaching staff, the players and us fans deserve something after the soap opera and dirge since 2012 and our robbing of a place in the top table.

CL football could actually be detrimental to the harmony within the squad with fringe players getting a lot less game time and becoming pissed off especially if we are looking to bring players in?

Being in the elite is a double edged sword. The board's expectation for us to stay at the top without making the blockbuster signings, keeping the periphery happy with less games to play. I would like to think Pochettino/Mitchell have a plan in place. Perhaps the fringe will get more game time in the cup comps?

If and when Leicester become Champions will they go on a spending spree to try and stay at the top? I don't think they have a youth set up like ours and a number of their players don't seem to be there for the long haul.

Does anyone really think we can beat United or Chelsea? Or even Stoke.

We've been solid, and hard to beat, not overwhelming the opposition.

I don't think we are favourites by any means to win against United or Chelsea, and we haven't done so for a lifetime anyway.

We have failed all our tests so far. Newcastle, which wasn't even a test, Leicester, West Ham, Woolwich, Liverpool.

No one wins the title on draws. Nothing in the Liverpool match suggested we could beat them or United or Chelsea.

For all the stakes and talk and strength and youth and etc. we have not upped our game and have not looked close to title winners. We just haven't beaten enough teams, especially the better ones, to justify it.

Of course, if Leicester collapse, which seems impossible, and we win the remaining six, then of course we deserve it, as we would have had to do something to up our game. The current performances are nowhere near good enough to win the League.

I don't even know why there'd be pressure on the lads, they're not leading. They have to catch up, so they have to play out of their skins, and they haven't. All well and good to roll over Villa and Bournemouth, which by the way, wasn't convincing considering how easy everyone takes Villa apart.

We'd have to see a remarkable, unbelievable turnaround for United but I don't think they are up for it.

We all know you are a Gooner Troll but sometimes amusing and you make the odd sensible point but your credibility now after saying,

"We have failed all our tests so far. Newcastle which wasn't a test"

Complete and utter cunt!

How exactly did we not manage Europa? We just decided to play a weaker side due to the title being on the line and the Europa being a piece of shit competition.

We'll manage the CL the exact same way we did last time.

Seriously, why are people so intent in seeing the negative side of everything?!

The worse, most negative bullshit I have ever had the displeasure to read on here.

I can't even begin to pick that post apart, such is the level of shit entangled within each sentence.

I can only imagine supporting Barcelona would still be a difficult for you, let alone Spurs, such is your desire to obliterate every opponent we ever face.

I've never, ever insisted anyone should ever leave this forum, but if you have nothing positive to say about this season, then I don't think you have anything of value to add to the board.

Incredible, incredible review of our best season for ... 30? 40? 50? years...

Last time we played the 1st team too much and they were burnt out by March and we fell away. This side might be fitter but it is not good to overplay so many players. We need the strength everywhere like we have at Full Back.

I'd also say we were pretty well stocked in the centre back positions as well.

The main areas that really need strengthening are back ups for Dier and Kane. Think everywhere else we have some excellent coverage and rotation.

Think the likes of Mason, Carroll and Bentaleb could be the main areas of weakness. I'd like to see Pritchard get more of an opportunity ahead of the first two. Bentaleb is a bit of a conundrum as he's fallen out of favour somewhat but if fit could do a job.

I also believe we have a more rounded squad compared to 2010-11 CL side. Redknapp beyond his favoured 11 didn't do much rotation hence the burn out. I feel we now have players good enough to fill in, if required beyond our starting 11.

We finished 5th that season 6 points off of 4th. That's not being negative that's being factual.

Which was a good season when you are lauding Redknapp?

Yet it isn't now when you have a different axe to grind?

Oh, Eski.

I dont have an axe to grind and am delighted to see us where we are but do view it as a chance missed, of course some might not be so delighted, those people being the ones who claimed when we finished 4th it was because liverpool were shit and city werent fully financially doped at that point.

Yet here we are sat in 2nd and united chelsea and liverpool are shit, city are struggling and woowlich want the managers head on a stick - I'll ignore fact we are below Leicester. :pochsmirk:
