Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This all started when FIFA sold the world cup to Qatar

The European clubs said that they were not happy

Then it goes to January !

FIFA and EUFA couldn't organise a drink in a brewery.
Fifa & uefa are the most corrupt organisations in the world, blatter, Platini, and countless other high profile members expelled for corruption.

They receive brown envelopes all the time, they just pissed off they won't get a cut (nor do the deserve it), that's what this threats come down too, they want a piece of them pie.

They make huge profits from champions league games, not even half goes to the clubs involved.

No. Really don't see what all the fuss is about.

Football fans and Sky Sports etc. collectively allowed/encouraged/paid for:

- the Premier League
- the Champions League
- Abramovich takeover and spend
- Abu Dhabi takeover and spend
- Qatar takeover and spend
- 1000+ GBP season tickets
- Sky Sports subscriptions

yet this is the breaking point?

Do me a favour.

Yet another episode that demonstrates how so many people simply do not live in the 21st century and are also in denial about their complicity in it.

Club after club after club went to the wall, while PL and CL clubs bought players for 70, 80, 90m and paid them 3, 4, 500k a week, but there wasn't this outrage. Why not?

Seems manufactured to me.

Finally, spare me the anti-Americanism: American sports have salary caps, and different teams win; European football has no salary caps, and Bayern win the Bundesliga every year; Juve have won Serie A for 9 years in a row; and PSG Ligue 1 six years in a row.

American leagues also have broad revenue sharing, so you don't end up with the financial disparity of Manchester United and Sheffield United. The better the league does, the better off everyone is. No fear of your club doing a Leeds. They're competitors on the field and allies, not enemies, off it.

There's a lot of bad Americanisms...but our sports are practically fucking socialist.

Is it me ........or is anyone else left slightly underwhelmed by the rather hysterical reaction. As if something pure has some how suddenly been sullied. Have all these people clutching their pearls not been paying attention. This is English top flight soccer like everything else in this country from Bio medical sciences, manufacturing base, cultural institutions, defence procurement, health care if it moves these greedy twats have sold it. The horse bolted and the stables have been burned to the ground years ago. We have criminals and head choppers in charge of a game stolen by sky and now the yanks want to steal it from them. Couldn’t really care less. The only mistake these people made was not bunging the biggest thef Johnson first.

I'm really hoping the other clubs ban the six evolved next season from Europe and hand out the ECL EL places from them down wards. But moral outrage is a farce and the free market capital kings donning capes to the rescue is hillarous.

I still laugh at the Judas protest day, the old bill telling everyone outside Rudolph’s that offensive chanting would be an arresteble offence lol

Anyone with a beard and skin tight jeans should be banned if this protest goes ahead

Already a large gathering outside Chelsea at the moment, and game does not kick off for another 2 hours.

Will be one outside ours tomorrow.
I aim to get there roughly 4pm

I'm going to use my Skywalk ticket to fling myself off the cock, screaming, "This is the death of football".

Bizarre that people would support such an audacious overreach of authority, gleefully supporting a government targeted destruction of a business. Over sport. To buy votes.

If people could only be moved to such furor over shit that actually matters.

But, then, sports and entertainment are the opiate of the masses - the wine and bread of the day - and the government can't have that spell broken. We might all start paying attention to what's really going on!
Bang on mate. Absolutely bang on.

Sports has a way of revealing and demystifying power relationships that are shrouded in mystery and bullshit in areas that matter.

Why are people prepared to protest about this, but not the World Club Cup or the UEFA Conference League or the World Cup being bunged to Russia or Qatar, or UEFA absolutely rolling over to accommodate money clubs with Middle East money.

I guess we all have a hill to die on, but not playing in a UEFA staged cup competition seems an odd one to me.

apologies, not meaning the above as any criticism. Good luck to you.

we could stage a riot......

Totally pointless waving banners and chanting slogans- totally ineffective. The only way to have these wankers listen- and it won’t happen- will be to totally and absolutely boycott a home match of importance. Given today’s climate that could actually go unnoticed :levystare:but when things change and we’re allowed to attend- that’s the answer- it’s always been the answer where protests is concerned but most supporters just don’t have the Niagra’s!

I do believe that it will be the fans that overturn this if anyone and not bloody Boris. I do not support unilateral action against our club but joint action involving supporters of all clubs.
How about a protest in Trafalgar square attended by supporters of all teams many of them in club shirts. Woolwich, Spurs, Chelsea , Spammers \and London based MU supporters all mixing together. Should give old bill nightmares.

Well Chelsea fans do seem to have been very productive tonight, the fat lady is starting to sing.

Fair play to them.

Our turn tomorrow

Then hope government put things in place so this shit can never happen again

I know nothing about the Chelsea situation.. perhaps I’ll catch-up later and update my opinion but I doubt it.

There's a point, for everyone, at which it becomes too much. If it was too much for you already you wouldn't be posting on a Spurs forum. You'd be doing something else with your time. No it's not something pure. But I still love travelling around UK and Europe following Spurs with mates and family, going to the games and just seeing the world, having fun. Home games have been shit for some time. If you go to away games then you know that a large amount of our away support is still proper. Good people who love the club and would support us in any division, in any situation. Aside from all the other things wrong with the ESL, it would kill this off. So whilst football is a lot shitter than it was when I first started going in the 90s, for me it's still worth fighting for.
