I suppose the less Tottenham games there are on TV, the less I have to be disappointed.
That's the spirit. This club really doesn't need such negative support (if support is the right word). Judging by your recent posts in the "Come Here To Laugh At Man Utd" thread I reckon you would be much better off taking yourself to one of their internet forums.

That’s barely 7m per club after PL’s comission

Which is more than the net profits of 14 EPL clubs in their last accounts - fans may think in telephone numbers but losing 7m a year off your bottom line still hurts, and that's not the main issue anyway.

Spurs main sponsor is AIA they are the largest life insurance group in China (in Asia actually) they have agreed to pay us 320m for shirt sponsorship until 2027 - you think losing their exposure to a billion Chinese is "barely" a problem? nearly every EPL Club has one or more major Chinese sponsors this will make waves.

It’s not a problem at all since our sponsorship deal and payment is not conditional on how many Chinese watch games on TV - do you honestly think Levy is so stupid to put that clause into a contract? Plus AIA don’t make their money on TV or PPV

It's not fantasy football. Off course losing a potential billion TV viewers is a problem, you think AIA pay us 320m because they are DL fans or is it for the TV exposure? Do you even know what brand recognition means? In fact do you even have the most basic grasp of marketing and advertising strategy?

Your comments right now would embarrass most secondary school kids - ArcspacE tries hard but continually fails to understand basic concepts.

No - they will pay us 320m because we have signed a binding contract which is not conditional on what another company does or doesn’t do. Time for another flounce, Bangkok - perhaps your 3rd account will be more knowledgable at last

Losing last seasons £160 million is going to hit hard EPL clubs already on the brink
The 160m is actually due from next season - current one has been paid in full - do some research before reading the Daily Mail

And which clubs are on the brink exactly?

Go away, put your big boy pants on, educate yourself, and come back with an apology to the forum once you have gained even the slightest idea what you're talking about.

Oh dear even the Daily Mail is better than you Premier League in China TV battle as holders of their most lucrative overseas deal continue to withhold £160m payment that was due in MARCH

New username - same old schooling for you, old chap

The Premier League has previously confirmed that all payments due from broadcasters were paid for the 2019-20 season that was completed late following the coronavirus shutdown. The £160m that was due in March is said to relate to next season,

Same dumb ArcspacE ArcspacE - the EPL cancelled the contract because PPTV refused to meet the payment terms agreed, not because as you claim they had "paid in full" ... why would the EPL cancel the best contract they've ever received if that was the case?

Clearly reading is a weakness so let me make it as simple as possible:

Contract value 620m .... that's never been confirmed but seems common knowledge.
First payment 300m ... paid in 2019
Second payment 160m ... due March 2020 not paid
Third payment 160m ... due March 2021 not paid

You go ahead and add up the missing payments 160m + 160m ... do you still think that that equals 160m?

The payment schedule is the payment schedule ... the reason the contract has been terminated is because they didn't pay, not as you keep claiming because they "paid in full" .... am I getting through yet?

They paid their installment for the current season which just ended. So your claim that 160m will affect clubs finances for 19/20 is categorically and factually false. Rest is irrelevant info

They broke the payment terms - you were 100% wrong to say they paid in full it was frankly idiotic - stop trying to move the goalposts just makes the hole deeper - how can you claim not getting 160m in March 2020 will not impact clubs finances for the 19/20 accounts is that an attempted joke?

Let me try again with the irelevant info:

Premier League announce new China TV deal

The Premier League on Thursday announced a new broadcast deal in China.

Tencent Sports have reached an agreement with the league to show every game from this coming weekend until the 2020-21 season, with more than half the fixtures shown free-to-air. The rest will be available via a subscription.

The Premier League decided to find a new broadcast partner in China after the previous rights holder PPTV - who signed the league's largest overseas rights deal in 2019 - failed to make a payment in March.

The deal, which was set to run until 2022, was subsequently terminated.

Premier League chief executive, Richard Masters, said: “We are excited to have agreed this partnership with Tencent ensuring our supporters in China can enjoy following Premier League action throughout this season.

“We and our clubs have an extremely passionate fanbase in China and are looking forward to working with the team at Tencent to engage with fans in new ways over the coming season.”

In their statement confirming the agreement, the Premier League confirmed it would continue to "explore opportunities" for more free-to-air coverage in China beyond this season.

So annoying that other countries get infinitely more access to watching the PL than we do.

It's madness when you think about it.

If I'm reading this right, PPTV paid 300m initial, and only got one season out of it. That leaves PL one up in this round.
If the Tencent deal is at a discount, that leaves the PL even at the end of this season.
Meanwhile PPTV set up a shady untraceable company called TwentypenceQ that pirates the games anyway (whenever it's not FTA)
Only they get to fight it out in-country, compared to Saudi vs Qatar.
