New documentary film on Amazon Prime is well worth a watch. Narrated by Spurs man Paul Coyte it’s Sonny’s life story up to the 2019 CL final.
What a nice fella, and brilliant footballer.
Poch in it a fair bit too.

I got bored after about 15 minutes

I think it's more aimed at South Korean fans than UK based fans - it all feels a bit staged, more like a reality show than a serious documentary.

It's a South Korean programme that Amazon have purchased and dubbed for prime. It was released originally in 2019.
There were some interesting bits in it, but I found it a bit staged and a bit too MTV cribs. Probably worth a watch though.

I just felt sorry for him watching it. He should be having different punani every night but instead he's living like monk with his parents.

I was surprised actually that he does so much training with his father still. I didn't think the club would allow that. He goes to the training centre for training with the club, then comes home for training with his dad.
It didn't really look like a home to me and appeared to be quite a boring way to live. It's probably great that he's free of distractions, but at what cost to his own wellbeing long term?

You can tell he'd like to get married and have kids. I really don't think his father is doing him any favours by forbidding him to get married until he retires. It's hardly done any of our other players any harm, in fact the ones who get married and have kids probably outperform those who don't.

To be fair hes outperforming almost all our players.

Really good documentary. Throughly enjoyed it.
His dad seems a bit of a taskmaster and I have to say, not particularly likeable. But he has 2 incredibly decent boys who must make him exceptionally proud. Maybe that’s where I went wrong as a parent? Sounds like they were “scolded” quite often. I think that may be a euphemism for good shoeing.

Definitely worth a watch though it appears a bit hacked together. The order is strange and parts don't make sense; e.g. he moves into the flat that he was living in before at the start of the program!
I never knew Poch tried to sign him at Southampton personally. Nice insight. His Dad is definitely a 'character'
The blurring of the logos was a bit odd. Very haphazard. Can see why it's not been given a large promo push but worth a watch for all Tottenham fans.

Yeah, but probably the only player he isn't outperforming also happens to have the most kids! (afaik)

The lesson is: if you want to be a world class footballer, have lots of kids or none at all.

Thanks for the review. Yeah, I suspected something along those lines. The international market was always going to be a distant second in their priorities.
