19th consecutive year finishing behind Woolwich.

:(While the dust in our trophy cabinet accumilates so do the Days Of Our Lives!

While sometimes it feels down I would never ever ever think of becoming a Gooner B***** :coys:

We just arn't at their level and I doubt we ever will be whilst Teflon Dan calls the shots.

Maybe by the end of next season the slower fans will finally catch up.

I doubt it though.

Not sure what the big hoohaa is about. Could have told you 8 months ago we wouldnt finish above them..

The far bigger concern to me is:

4th
5th
6th

But dont tell me, if we win our next two games, this season will be as good as last season....and better than the season we qualified in 4th.

:avbfacepalm:

I'm not sure how I'll sleep tonight. I'm torn but I think 2004 just pips this seasons success at the Emirates.

It's never nice finishing below the gooners but their celebrations just serve as a reminder as to how far they've fallen surely?

Liverpool fans got caught up in competing for the title that they forgot to celebrate finishing above Everton :(
Nailed it. We've had shittest season is, 4, 5 years? and They're struggling for 4th considering Man U are nowhere to be seen.

Liverpool's success out of nowhere really shows what an underachievement Woolwich has been for last 6 or 7 years.

Odd thing to say. Surely Liverpool's success is an example of overachieving rather than other clubs underachieving? I think all the "big" clubs in the league will finish where they're supposed to considering transfer fees and wages except for Liverpool (overachieving) and Man Utd (underachieving).

Yes but Woolwich are more similar to Liverpool than City and Chelsea in that they haven't spent big, so Woolwich's claim of 'we can't compete financially' is sort of blown apart. They have the experience of finishing in the top 4 for years, yet Liverpool, who have been out of the top 4 for about 4 seasons or so, come out from no where and actually mount a challenge. When was the last time Woolwich did that?

Yes they're over achieving and they probably wont replicate this next season, but it's just an example of how mediocre Wenger has let Woolwich slip to, and how low their fan's expectations are.

It's also an example of picking the right manager and not giving him stupid top 4 targets in the first year or two and letting him build a team and a style from the ground up. If we get Pochenttino or De Boer, back them in the transfer windows, don't set stupid short term goals and let them build a stylish team then in a few season we may be up near the top.

Much as Sherwood may not be the long term manager, the idea after taking over mid season as we are falling apart and setting top 4 finish as a must doesn't really do us any favours. I'd rather we gel the players and start to get something of a system even though the proccess might be painful in the short term.

Have any of the other 'big City rivals' had such a one-sided slant for so long???

Liverpool and Everton's success always seems to coincide...
Other than them, I'd have said Man Utd over City, but then a couple of Arab Billions seems to have changed all that!

Liverpool have spent loads of money over the last few years on absolutely average players. They just got lucky that gambles on Suarez and Sturridge worked otherwise they'd be struggling as we are at the moment. They will struggling to comply with FFP (although it's a farce anyway) because of how badly they've spent over the years. It's a fine line and I wouldn't give them too much credit.

If getting into the top 4 and being only 7 points off the top with an FA cup final coming up is mediocre, where can we sign up for this mediocrity?

Mediocrity

Mediocrity only comes to those who welcome it with open arms!

I'm more spurs than you will ever be son.

I think you are right Carlito. People say the same about me because I am negative etc and I only zoom in on the cracks of the team (ooer!). But I won't back down because IMO St Totteringhams day as painful as it is, has been caused by wing play.

Our brand of wingplay is the reason we have been out of the title picture for over half a century. We had the second best winger in the world, Lennon was in form (for him) and we STILL could not stop st Totteringhams day with Ade etc up front and dominating possession via Modric.

Until soft Spurs is booted out of this club and we can compete in all areas we will continue to spin our wheels and not be taken seriously.

Fucking lolcats taking the piss and rubbing one out over Townsends runs etc just keep feeding the failure that is the Tottenham Way in the prem. Losing with style.

As for the big Mary who is thinking of switching sides, be gone you snivelling little Tart, your sort are not wanted or welcome.
If you could ever consider swapping to them Cunts, you were never a Yid in the first place.
Abbey Yid Abbey Yid , kick him out, time for a new housemate.
Christ, no, I don't associate with the level of idiot. My housemate's a glory-hunting Pool fan, that was his mate from back home (somewhere in Birmingham I think). But he's the most 'loyalalist' fan out of anyone, so, maybe we should all do the same.. :avbfacepalm:

Mediocrity compared to what they could have achieved IF they'd been a bit more like Liverpool in terms of spending / gambling on players (whatever you want to call it).

Of course 4th and FA cup semi would be great for us, but for a club who's ambitions finish at top 4, and (until likely very soon) not competing on any cup fronts, it's mediocre.
