Great to hear Teemu Tainio get a mention. Loved that guy. Tenacious as fuck and if I remember rightly was a massive spurs fan, which Arnesen had written down in his scouting dossier and used it to help recruit him?

Involved in two of my favourite days of recent years (Chelsea cup win and scored a cracker in the West Ham 4-3).

He actually had really good and interesting career, winning trophies almost everywhere he went, Finland, France (Auxerre), Spurs, Ajax.

As limited squad players go, I’d have him here now instead of non entity like Sissoko in a heartbeat. I’d love to see him back as a youth coach or something.

I think his story, his character and the way he put his heart and soul into every gamehe’s definitely a worthy candidate for mini cult hero status. And I rarely say that, especially about bit part players who are only here for 2-3 years.
