You’re really reaching trying to demonstrate Ange is a better coach than Poch!
This is an interesting comment and requires some unpacking.

Ange has won trophies everywhere he's gone and stayed at least two seasons. More often than not he won something in his first season.

Those trophies may have been mostly in 2nd class leagues but he had to win using the cattle he had - sometimes in salary capped leagues. How would Poch have gone in those salary capped leagues - where the only variable for success tends to be the head coach?

Then there's the Asian Cup - the Asian equivalent of the Euros. This is a tremendously difficult competition to win and Ange did it using only (obviously) the players available via their Australian passports. Few on here will realise what an immense achievement that was but it's an insight into the cult of Ange and why so many fans from his previous clubs still follow his every move. Especially Celtic fans.

Pep is on record as saying Ange is one of the best coaches in the world (when he was still at Yokohama) and I for one doubt whether Poch (or anyone else) could have done as well with the resources available.

Having said all that, there is an undeniable quality gap between the EPL and every other level Ange has coached at. Maybe there's a thoroughbred effect from which only super-elite coaches can benefit...

But let's not forget Spurs came fifth in Ange's first season and won a major trophy in his second. Sure he made priority choices in the 2nd but let's not confuse that with quality of coaching. On some indicators, Ange is clearly better than Poch.

And once again where did it get us?
Poch had us playing some magnificent football. I've never felt that sustained level of excitement to watch us play - over several years - with anyone other manager. I felt proud to support the club. In recent years, I haven't felt that at all. It's been chaos. Winning that trophy was a thrill beyond all others and I can't stop watching the celebrations (not the game - it was sooooo bad lol). But it's not a silver magic wand that wipes out all the crap. I want to see us bullying teams on a regular basis again.

Basically, I want us to win trophies and be awesome every week from now until the end of time.

Poch just played an unfit Kane in the CL final and put the red hot in form hatrick scorer in the semi on the bench:
I call that crap coaching and it lost us the final
Meh. Not really. It was the shocking penalty and Liverpool generally being a better team anyway.

Gun to your head, most of us would've done the same, starting Kane.

Let's not forget Lucas still got 30 minutes and did nothing.

We all love Lucas but 9 times out of 10, a not-quite-fit Kane is still a better player.

Not a lot of people on here care about any of this, but are thankful nonetheless for the trophy.

Football in these parts are a ruthless business. I think Ange would understand that. He's never shown remorse or empathy when he's left jobs in the past to climb the football pyramid.

Pages upon pages across the forum of people arguing who is better Poch or Ange, but there’s nothing to really compare for a true view. They managed at different times, with different sets of players, in different competitions of varying levels.

It’s not really possible to compare them in a true sense, how would Poch do trying to replicate what Ange did in the Australian league? Well, no one knows, because he’s never managed there and his reputation in Europe suggests he’ll never have to, and even if he did it would be in a different time with different players against very different opposition.

It’s like when people argue over who is better out of Messi and Ronaldo vs Pele and Maradonna… they played in different times with very different contexts to how the game was played, the quality of opposition varies, its footballing talent then vs a more athletic nature now. There’s just no way of fairly deciding in these situations.

There’s also been managers in between and again the league has changed. The only decision here isn’t is Ange more capable than Poch, or Nuno or Jose… it’s simply is Ange good enough to be our manager, in this league, with these players, at this time, based on his performance in the league, and various cups.
