Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Has to shoulder a lot of the blame from the Brighton defeat. Yes the players were poor, especially Romero and Udogie, but he left them out there. We went from 2-0 up to 3-2 down and it was 13 minutes after conceding the third goal before he made a change, unbelievable, especially when it was obvious some were struggling.

We traditionally always struggle after an away match in Europe mid week, but we put ourselves in a great position at 2-0 up and frittered it away.
I don't totally blame Ange, he was not backed in the summer, with most of our signings being kids for the future, but he is not the first manager to experience the Levy effect and no doubt he won't be the last.

No points sacking him now, it will only be rinse and repeat again, still think we have a good chance at the Europa, as a cup competition probably offers a better chance of success under Anges style of play, only a very outside chance at top 4, too many teams better and more consistent.

Agree with some of that. Judge him at end of season. A Trophy or top 4 for me otherwise hes failed and we then need to hire a modern elite Manager. Atm hes falling short but still earlyish in season.

We ain't getting top 4 or a trophy. Not this group. No maverick and no capacity to dig deep. Both are essential.

I have no idea whatsoever why we plan for tomorrow when today hasn't even arrived.

Yesterday Hjojberg, for his faults would have been useful. Instead we buy kids.

Bizarre strategy.

Agenda? No, i have nothing personal against Ange. I just don't think he's good enough. Over the last 12 months our record is as follows:

Wins 27
Draws 10
Loses 18

It's the very definition of bang average and midtable, and coupled with the fact that we are utterly incapable of beating either a close rival or any team in the top half of the division tells me that Ange isn't good enough.

But sure... I'm the problem. Nothing to do with the Australian Tim Sherwood in the dugout...

thats not bang average mid table, mid table is roughly as many wins as losses

you are looking at this very negatively, ange finished 5th in his first season with an unlucky injury/suspension situation that blew up the charge as they were about to surge 5pts clear at the top of the table, you left that part out of your report

when normal luck resumes, then tottenham can pick up some wins against west ham, A to Z and palace, make it 8 wins out of 9 and be back in a satisfactory position about 6th in the league and top of the Europa League

Not sure he will learn but think he will get the whole season.

It also gives us time to consider alternatives.

We have a top 6 squad and anything less is failure in my book.

Postecoglou is certainly not good enough to get our players into the top 3. 4th and 5th seen out of reach to me.

Right now I feel we will finish 6th to 8th. The squad lacks a strong midfielder and another striker.

And I am unsure if the manager can instill the right mentality.
I don’t care where we finish in the league

We need to tighten up and get through the cups

“Substitutions and all those kind of things … they are totally irrelevant to me,” he said. “If you’re not competitive, it doesn’t matter what you do, you’re not going to get rewards.

“We didn’t deserve, on our second-half performance, irrespective of subs or anything else, to get something out of the game. If you do get something out of the game, you’re falsely rewarded and I don’t want to get falsely rewarded.

Yeh he's a real "learner" and "adapter" this guy.
youre missing the point. it doesnt matter what he says in pressers or does in games, he might say he thinks subs are irrelevant or set pieces arent important..but he doesnt mean it, its deeper than that. hes teaching us life lessons, we should want to win every game, even a game that means just 3 points to us, while handing our rivals the league title and decades of bragging rights and banter...thats what being a winner is all about, we need to listen to this life guru.

he could of won that game yesterday but he held back to teach us and the players a valuable life lesson! every single game we dont win is because ange is teaching us life lessons that no one other than himself could teach! once we have learnt from the great ange postecoglou, then hell actually start winning. we are sooooo lucky to have him. hes beyond a winner, he might even be the son of god!

No top 4 or a trophy then for me he has to go. Hes been backed, hes said that as well. Said last year he expects to be number 1. Were only 7 games in but xmas is a good barometer were we are. At the momebt hes behind schedule imo.

I honestly don’t understand why Ange can’t complement the great football with some pragmatism. He’s looking like a lunatic idealist. He’s got our open attacking play sorted. We can do that. Great. So could Fergie’s MU. But winning sides also defend. Play dirty. Shut up shop. Game management. FFS it’s like we’re being run by Momentum.

I think we're just treading water now.

Isn't he only on a 2 year contract, in which case he'll get the boot at the end of the season.

3 defeats out of 7 in the PL, we're going nowhere.

Well I don’t see us winning the europa but if the fa cup draw is kind. That’s what I’m pinning my hopes on .
We'll probably play a weakened team and get knocked out of the Europa in the early knockout phase.
Then play a weakened team in the FA Cup to prioritise qualifying for next year's Europa League, and get knocked out of the FA Cup as a result.
