He's salary will be peanuts compared to what Jose and Conte were on. If the time comes to give him the boot his payoff won't be any hindrance.

There's a reason most modern managers have the fullbacks overlap- fullbacks are naturally meant to be out wide, and somewhat deep, where they are naturally suited to delivering crosses while also being able to provide defensive cover on their wing. Having underlapping fullbacks be the main runner into the box is almost certain suicide though- so many times Udogie has lost possession in the box for us to immediately have VDV in a vital footrace to cover vs a winger. That's ok- Udogie is a fullback I'm not expecting him to play like a 10 in the box. I hope Ange isn't either, but, IDK sometime seems a little weird or off about Ange and I'm not sure he's entirely sound in his reasoning or thinking in this regard...//// Right now I feel we will finish 6th to 8th. The squad lacks a strong midfielder and another striker.
I think our top priority is not attack but defence.
we cant hv both CBs mopping up errors or covering Left& right back duties..or running back from the mid.
fck that inverted ange ball sh*t. we dont hv the personnel to this.
A solid team has solid defence. We should be winning 1-0 or 2-0's - fark that kamikaze "entertainment" crap where the LB end up at the opposition's penalty box a dozen times
I'm really trying to find some positives....
And we're 9th....

Not sure why people are so sure he'll automatically get the whole season. Not sure he will learn but think he will get the whole season.
Our squad is nowhere near Chelsea, villa are better organised.take city, scum and liverpool away. whos next? our squad is not inferior to chelsea, villa or newcastle. even if them 3 are slightly better (for arguments sake), they arent so far in front we shouldnt be competing for 4th.

This is our worse start since '08. Since then, Levy has sacked three managers alone in the period between now and Xmas (AVB, Poch, Nuno). Plenty of other, more established managers than Ange went after Xmas but before the season was out (Conte, Mou).
If even Poch didn't have enough credit in the bank to prevent his sacking I'm not sure why Ange would. That is, unless Levy has drunk the same koolaid on Ange half this fanbase seems to have.
Agree. Add Newcatle to an extent in terms of squad strength, although not in the same bracket. Our squad is nowhere near Chelsea, villa are better organised.
Nobody's using our start to gauge his tenure alone; it's also his last 35 games which sees us in 9th.Difficult to use our start as a real gauge for his tenure.
Last season, after more rounds, was (I think) our best ever start in the PM ?
Almost like this is due to the manager or somethingOur squad is nowhere near Chelsea, villa are better organised.

Ange wears blame for our capiluation as he is the Manager.
The buffoons on the paddock are just as much to blame.
I think he will turn it around, but even as a fan of his, I doubt Levy will hold back from a sacking if things get worse.
It's not just our start; it's his last 35 games which sees us in 9th.
What I don't understand is why last year's opening ten games - much of which you can explain with new manager bounce (see Glasner, Ole, & countless other manager's starts by comparison) - should be more important than his next 35?
Neither are more important.
They are all snapshots.
It's whether or not , given time, Ange can change a weak mindset that has prevailed at our Club for decades. Our capitulations stretch way back before Ange.
I will back him in, and I will the first to say I got it wrong should he fail. However, given what he took over , the loss of Kane, the turmoil with Conte, etc, I personally would like to see him play out the season. I believe we have a real chance at the Europa League.
Understandably, many here are fuming after the Brighton loss. I am too. Lets chat again in a month. Hopefully for all of us, he will have steadied the ship.
No Ange-Ball wasn't found out in Scotland becauseNobody's using our start to gauge his tenure alone; it's also his last 35 games which sees us in 9th.
As for his first ten games last year, what I don't understand is why that opening ten - much of which you could explain by new manager bounce - should be more important than his next 35, when presumably the team are playing football that's a lot closer to the style he wants to implement?
We were repeatedly told by Celtic fans before Ange took over, give him time, ignore the first few months, he's implementing his style, they don't count. But now that those 10 games went well it's basically all a certain portion of the fanbase can talk about, as if that's the true Ange-ball and not the dross he's largely served up ever since.
Cups or tightening up? I have faith Ange will reflect on the latter. The PL is too competitive and our players aren’t good enough to outplay everyone and take risks for 90. He’s not stupid and he has to reflect on the first 14 months over the next fortnight and I think he will. Yes, you can blame players but after 50 or so games you have a big enough data set to objectively analyse
Was Sunday kamikaze? First half was superb although I guess we still gave up big chances despite dominatingNo Ange-Ball wasn't found out in Scotland because
* the competition is low - not competitive
* & Celtic had quality players
but ANgeball for celtic failed big time playing Euro ties.
Angeball conversations in Japan & Aust. shouldnt be carried over to EPL. Let's forget about the last.
Just watch this season - are we still squad-rebuilding??
Angeball - never liked it -entertainment or not. Give me solid steady football any day over kamikazee crazy football
I think that's going to have to wait until Mr Levy vacates his throne. And I also think that Ange is going to find that difficult to achieve if he isn't open to accepting and eradicating his own weaknesses at PL/CL level. His experience has got him this far but he needs to adapt or his way will die at the feet of his (eventually disillusioned) foot-soldiers. He is going to need an ugly plan B from time to time. It's whether or not , given time, Ange can change a weak mindset that has prevailed at our Club for decades. Our capitulations stretch way back before Ange.
Completely agree - I was genuinely worried by his response - such flawed logic - like a petulant teenager.I would have agreed with all of that & given the benefit of any doubt until that second half, followed by that interview.
It was beyond shit effort and performance & the manager can’t come out afterwards and defend not making substitutes earlier when it was clear the wheel had come off plan A. It’s his bloody job to change things when it’s not working.
Whether that’s shutting up shop, tweaking the tactics &/or making early substitutes, that’s squarely on his shoulders.
What he came out with made no sense at all. It was genuinely babble.
