Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

on paper we should be winning it this year. we wont though because we have the worst manager going. theres no CL dropouts this year is there i dont think. so we should be winning it. we could if this idiot gets sacked ASAP

we are actually faves
spurs 4/1
united 6/1
bilbao 8/1
roma 10/1
lazio 10/1

us or united aint winning it without managerial changes.
United don't need a managerial change to win it tbh.

But we lose far more games than them. So there must be a problem. You compare us to City and Chelsea but they are unbeaten this season. We've already lost 3. That is what I mean by Naive. We are too easy to beat.

Chelsea aren't unbeaten, drew at home to Palace and Forest and just scraped a win vs Bournemouth in the last mins of the game. Bar City - the game they lost, they haven't played anyone else of note - let's see how they do the next 3 fixtures vs Liverpool, Newcastle and United before we crow about them.

City are an anomaly in terms of having the best striker in world football at their disposal.

But if the premise is we are easy to score against, and we have conceded 8 goals in 7 games, then surely, those teams who have also conceded 8 goals in 7 games are easy to score against too.

United can be absolute crud but they still win trophies. Roma won the Conference a short while back. Bilbao have several in recent years. Lazio won the Coppa Italia in 2020. On one level or another, they are all proven winners. And, yes, the Conference cup is hardly a mega win but it's still a win and proof that you can see off all the competition you face to earn the silverware.

Us? One league cup in 2008. And does a team that allows itself to fall apart like it did in the Brighton game really stand much of a chance against such teams in a prominent competition on the European stage? Before the weekend, I'd have said we stood a chance, but after that shit show, I really don't know. It feels like the same old Spurs right this minute.

We've only won 5 of the last 18 league games. The fact that some people are not questioning Ange and are completely happy to accept this level of mediocrity is what truly scares me.

Ange is not going to shag you, deal with it.

we are probably faves due to us having the best 11 and squad in the comp. same reason united are 2nd faves most prob. neither of us or winning it unless we have big changes.

And the results the last 12 months is also irrelevant. Since the start of this season we have been playing way better than the table shows. Its the overall progress which is important. And i think that its clearly alot of progress from last season. And that is, now, in october, more important than how many points we have.
So let me get this, results, which is more or less an objective criteria of judging how a team is performing, is not important but the way we play, which is probably a very subjective criteria, is important instead. Lol.

In other words, all the likes of ten Hag needs to do to save his job is to "just play better football bro".

7 wins from 18 to be fair with 9 defeats. The wins are Luton, Forest, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Everton, Brentford and Utd. 5 at home and all lower table when we played them, most relegation fodder.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. Still... it's shit form.

This is the level of delusion that Ange lovers are now resorting to. Apparently form and points are now apparently unimportant.

This is our worst start to a season since 08/09's 2 points from 8 games fiasco. If you think that represents progress, then I suggest following another sport because football clearly isn't for you.

I was quite Ange out until we went on the run of five wins. Whilst I still think much of what I said before is relevant, we ARE going to lose football matches. We've lost the same football matches we lost last season so far from like-for-like opponents, but on the whole the football is better, and our like-for-like goal difference (scored and against) is better in those matches. If you are looking for progress and consistency. Our rolling 38-game sequence is shocking and concerning of course. But we haven't played everyone once yet, let alone twice.

We've lost a third of all league games under him and I think that's too many, but the real target has to be Europa this season. If and when we are knocked out of that, is when we and Levy should ask questions.

The overall form is shit, no question. Sunday he was a dick about things after but we could have scored 5. This is the problem, ultimately it comes down to recruitment as much as stubbornness. The players let him down in that second half.

Agree to an extent, but should not the manager had done something at half time regarding our right hand side. That was where they were getting through everytime.

Disagree with a lot of things you say on here but this is absolutely bang on.
He’s either a man of his word, not a man of his word or just a contrarian with the media.

You named a handful of clubs that have won a trophy while being mediocre. Do you think those clubs didn’t have shit performances like against Brighton?

Sure, things don’t look as promising after that result but it’s 1 result. In an early season league match. There’s absolutely no reason we can’t learn from it and win the Europa.

It makes total sense why we are all feeling a bit glum (or worse) but it’s important to remember it was just 1 match. And even though it was a dreadful 2nd half, it was still a brilliant 1st half. Far more promising than being drilled 5-0.

We'll see.

This really is what I find most alarming about the whole situation.
Take Ten Haag at United. They've won 2 trophies in 2 seasons, sit just a couple of points below us, yet most of their fans are screaming for his head.
The way our expectations have been lowered to sewer levels is absolutely staggering.
