When we played under Jose we didn't play possession ball much and we still won plenty games including against Woolwich/ManU etc. They had majority of the possession but they weren't really effective against us and we pounded them on the counter.

I'd rather "lose" 38 matches but control the possession in all of them than win 38 matches and have less possession in just one of the 38

Goals and positive scorelines are simply an outdated concept in the year 2024

I couldn't figure out why palace fans were all happy and celebratory yesterday

Their team lost and lost heavily

I was embarrassed for them

He’s currently got Napoli top. Total turnaround from last season. Four points clear of second place Inter.

Before us he won it with Inter (incredibly consistent side too) and he also won the league and FA cup with Chelsea. Before that he was utterly dominant at Juve.

Conte was/is a fucking fantastic coach who worked borderline miracles first season with one of the most hideous back lines I’ve ever seen. Our win at the Etihad was art.

He had too much ego and too much individualism to not get frustrated with the way we do things. Conte would’ve thrown a wobbly this summer at the mostly signing of fucking children.

In fairness they actually had more shots and shots on target than us. But did we win the xG???

We definitely won the possession. Which brilliant because everyone knows that matters hence why we all loved AVB.

This makes me even more confident about the path we're on

Even in a perceived bad moment (TM*shadydan) we still won the possession

You can play like Romero has over the last dozen games and have the fans screaming he's world class. It's the board, the done nothing D.o.f, the coach, the inept assistants AND its the fans. When it comes to a winning culture they are all clueless and the owner knows but doesn't care.

Southampton have the 6th most possession in the league. Higher than Villa and Woolwich, almost as high as Chelsea.
They are fully subscribing to this new way of thinking.
That’s what happens when you get a young progressive manager in.

Their academy has actually thrown away all their goalposts as well to help the youngsters really understand the concept.

Problem with Conte is that he doesn't last 3 years in any club just like Jose. But within a short time he does produce results. Regardless he was going to be gone end of the 2nd year no matter the result, he was never the solution.

His record is not actually as good as is made out. Check it out. He also suffers from delusions of grandeur. He thinks bco he has won at j league, aussi rules and one horse race he is the special one. He seems to have this arrogance which comes across in his post match pressers where he is rude.
