Levy doesn't sign young talents so they become mainstays at Spurs and win us stuff. He couldn't care less about that.

The sole reason he buys them is the hope some/most turn into class players he can then sell on to Real, Barca, City and the likes for a massive profit...and give himself another huge bonus.

Back in the day you'd spend 5 mil on a Gareth Bale whereas bow an Archie sets you back 40 odd. But Levy don't give a shit provided a giant comes in with a 90-100 mil offer within 2 or 3 seasons.

Thank you for exposing yourself of just spouting random emotional shit instead of making valid points.

If anything, in past 10 years we have OVERKEPT our star players and see them become worthless in the process.
It happened to Dele. It happened to Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Dier. It nearly happened to Eriksen who was worth 100 million euros at the peak. And yet was sold for just 27 million (!).

Literally between Walker and Kane there was 6 years where we did not sell anyone at their peak. But you make it sound like that would have been a consistent operating model.

But hey. Don't let facts get in your way, mate.

What did Conte win at Arezzo or Atalanta?
Places where he didn’t have a massive budget.
But you’re right, he did fuck off quickly enough, having seen them relegated or left deep in the relegation zone.
You didn't even know who Arezzo was till you googled that. Imagine using that as a stick to beat him with.

Whats Postecoglou's excuse then? Because so far he's been afforded shit loads of money and has so far achieved fuck all.

Ange never looked the part, he just played the nice fat guy act to a tee.

Everybody raving on about them first 10 games last season. Tell you what...watch them again. We weren't the prime Barca some seem to remember us as. I mean, we struggled like crazy to beat newly promoted Luton. Yes, Biss made a right tit of himself that day but even with 11 men we were shit and Luton could easily have scored a few. Just one example. That spell is clearly embellished, some sort of weird mental trick the mind played on us after suffering so badly under Conte/Stellini/Mason.

Ange himself said at the time he wasn't happy with several of those performances. I saw the holes, who the hell thought it was prime Barca. I think we were all excited as the football was starkly different and didn't leave us wanting to cut our eyes out or wash them with bleach.

The season itself got a bit derailed by several factors not limited to:
Injuries to the most key players
Suspensions to key players
International tournaments meant no Son, Sarr or Bissouma for 4-6 weeks. Biss then came back with fucking Maleria ffs.
We still had a lot of players not really wanted by Ange so those filling in for the above were often not great replacements.
Then when we were actually blessed by players returning from injury, they were totally unable to recover even 50% of their form.

No job is easy, all teams get their shit.. of course I am not saying poor Ange he is the only one who had problems... But it is a little galling how everything gets glossed over as if none of those things matter. It effects how efficiently he could coach the players, so delays things.

He isn't doing a Slot. Coming in barely changing anything and having a flush ready team to work with. He is trying to change the entire culture of the club, because it is rotten. The tactics on the pitch are very different too, so not easy to quickly adapt to. I don't believe people are stupid enough to think this can all be done in one season and 10 games, so I guess what it is, is impatience because of the previous barren years the frustration has built up.

The most anti Ange praised him last week and were positive about an encouraging result against West Ham. Now it's swung in one league game to Ange out again. It's beyond ridiculous in my opinion.

There is no change in culture as long as Enic/Levy is here as his boss.

You might be right, it's a huge problem.. but it is not like Ange is not trying. We had galactico Conte and Mourinho talk us down, insult us. If any cunt SHOULD have been talking about winning it's them. Cowards though. Paycheck cunts.
Pochettino was scared to say win.
Ange is not backing away from anything, constantly talking about winning. He researched us and took the job precisely because we are always coming up short. He believes and wants to change that.
It might be above his abilities but I fucking admire that balls to keep insisting when it's so much easier and less pressure to be meek like Pochettino was. I want him around long enough at minimum to see whether he continues always winning in the second season.

They won everywhere but here...plus its not a guarantee Ange will even be here at the end of the season.
For now, all we can do is hope he figures it out. If not, Levy WILL fire him like he did with every previous manager.

I think it’s fair to say he’s genuinely itk, but only to a minor extent.

Calls a lot of stuff that isn’t glamorous information - injuries, matchday squads.

He’s also called a few random transfers ahead of anyone else. I think he reported Odobert.

Must know a few people in the club. Sometimes goes on podcasts too, so doesn’t hide his position.
Gets some random stuff ahead of others and obviously has some geniune connections but pads it out with guesswork. Sees X is missing from the club training vid and 10 mins later claims he's heard X has a knock and then club are waiting on tests (just in case they turn out to be available). Think he got Devine to Westerlo ahead of others too although people were already speculating that Devine might go to Belgium since it was the only big window left open.

The stadium was the game changer. So we were told.
I accepted the Covid issues which were unexpected and had a huge impact.
But… we are or should be better equipped post Covid to spend, than most.
We have spent (before anyone jumps on that) but we won’t ever break the bank to buy (or keep) elite players or build around them.
We won't attempt to break the wage structure unless our star player makes it clear he’s done with us. We try. We fail.
We have a mediocre squad. A mediocre manager.
Win a few handsomely.
Lose a few with wilting boredom.
Cycle repeats.
Please just break the cycle Spurs. It’s time to accept we’re going nowhere or step up.

Yeah I hope he figures it out. That's best for everyone! That's my point...
Too many seem like they want him gone right now and of course the next manager will be 'the one'

It is too soon to switch in my opinion. It is neither proved nor disproved that Ange is a failure. Things are a work in progress.

If we are hovering around mid table in two years time , should we still not sack him because changing managers alot hasn't worked either ?

Is there a single post on this site that suggests Postecoglou (or any manager) be given 4 years of mid table results without being sacked?

Why do you make up imaginary arguments to have imaginary fights against? So weird.

Per Transfermarkt:

1 win and 1 loss against Villa
1 win and 1 loss against Liverpool
2 losses against Chelsea
2 losses 1 draw against City
2 wins 1 draw 1 loss against Man U
2 losses 1 draw against the Gooners

Man United aren't a top 6 side really.
Last seasons top 7 (because we were 5th) had Newcastle in there at 7th. We won one and lost 2 to them.
Did levy once say Poch had put us ahead of the “project” or similar?

Maybe I imagined him saying that.

Was just thinking over the fact it’s 10 years since we appointed poch. 24 years since ENIC took over.

Where are we actually at in their 25 year plan. Is this actually it? A multi sports stadium that prints money for fun.

Maybe we all shouldn’t expect too much of Big Ange.
He’s just an affable guy levy can push off the boat when they need the next affable guy to come in and charm the supporters for a year to 18 months.

There was indeed a rumour that Poch exceeded both expectations on him and where the team would be, especially with the stadium on the horizon.
And yes, I do think we're exactly where Levy wants is. Commercially valuable, raking in money for fun in our multipurpose venue.
He's never leaving and ENIC will always have their claws in.
They're the sort of people that would change our names and shirt colours if they could make money off it and get away with it.

That’s an interesting bet. I will put £0.10p on us finishing above them. What odds do I get??

You can currently get 10/1 on them finishing top 4.

5/2 on us. Bookies must be seeing more money on us at the moment I guess. See how that changes over the next few months.

West Ham are 66/1 - they are on the same points as United currently and just beat them.
:dawsonlol::dawsonlol::dawsonlol::dawsonlol:

I suspect they're (United) not playing to get ETH sacked. Happens all the time everywhere. It'll happen at Spurs if the players get fed up with being rolled over by well organised teams.

Spot on mate.
