This “cherry picking” of runs always happens. It’s natural to do so. If we are playing well and getting good results, we go back to the first good result and form opinion from that. Same is true for a bad run. No issue with it whatsoever.

However, I do think straddling two seasons to get this “bad run” isn’t helpful, especially considering the fixtures we had at the end of last season and the fact we have added new players to the squad since then.
And we have different players than we had last season.

Cannot agree with the stick Ange is getting , how many of our current players get in the Poch team , none is the answer, at least in my opinion . I know Son is technically in both but a 30 plus Son is not the same as 25 year old Son

Why 16? Why not 20 or 5?
Who really gives a fk, just win the next one right?
Aphex, it’s probably different for me, I only got to see TH in the nineties up close, then most of my life in Aus or Asia. And regardless of internet, it’s fkn hard to see much more than highlights. Nineties London I remember was all about digging in and pumping up for the next battle. I fkn loved that and I still think it’s what makes the difference - managers and players will come and go, supporters are the soul and essence of the club - fuck the last 16 or 20 or 5, let’s fkn smash that fkr Cash and his brummy mates and then go do some damage in the cups

Well even if we go back to 20 or 30 games it's stil a really bad record. If we use the last 9 games this season it's a bad record. That says it all. There is no way of dressing it up, the last 30 PL games or so have been really poor.

Ange simply has to do better and do it now, in the league. we lost our last league game in awful fashion, he has to win Sunday.

The 90s were grim as a Spurs fan, horrendous mate. Admire your enthusiasm though and agree, hope we smash them.

Well if Dan’s men say that then it must be true . I believe he also said when we sold Kane let’s not replace him for 12 months
Fair 🤣

Ange definitely has a tough job , you could even say an impossible job with our owners

But the squad we have should be doing way better than 3 away wins in almost a calendar year and should at no point be on a run of 9 defeats in 16

People shout " cherry picking" but it's a fact , in the last 16 league matches we've played , we've lost 9

That is horrendous any way you dress it up

Yeah it's stupid, makes me laugh when people do that.

Yep, maybe Ange is not the man, but I fkn hope he is. Fkn COYS!! Need to square up one on that trash cash - and generally im not like that - but fkn hell

Yeah it's a bad run for sure but what is more important is how we do in the next 16 games and the 16 after that.

We are definitely a WIP with a young team but there are signs we are improving, we just need to turn more of the good performances into wins and cut out these games where we don't turn up/get out fought.

Personally I'm excited to watch this team grow.

8 wins in 10.

3 points tomorrow and we are just 2 points behind title chasing Woolwich.

After our worst start to a season for however many years.

And them having this super manager who has reinvented how to play against possession football.

Who writes these scripts???

Arteta is a super manager… since when????

Yeah but youre ignoring the only metric the real fans care about that totally aren't gooners but just use their talking points.

Did he cheat at online chess?

We can do results including last season or we can just do this season. One has us on a very bad run in the league and the other has us on a very bad run in the league .. take your pick.

We are currently 10th. We lost our very last league game to Palace for their first win of the season. It’s not going well. People can cite x wins in x and include all the cups but that’s the league situation.

Hopefully we win tomorrow and then beat Ipswich with a trip to the Etihad on the horizon.

The league is clearly getting more competitive, especially for most of the teams playing 2 times a week constantly without the actual depth to handle it.

And if we win tomorrow will you still think we are off the pace for 3rd?

Yes. We have had a great run of fixtures so far, with said fixtures we should actually be in a really solid position. Not to mention we’re at the less physically demanding point of the season where our style works best.

We won’t be close to 3rd this season. *If* we win tomorrow (big if given Villa are pretty good, people seem to be counting this chicken before it hatches) then we should follow up by beating Ipswich but then it’s the Etihad trip.

I think we probably do win tomorrow (our home record is good at the moment) but it won’t change my overall view of where we are at. We are volatile and struggle to chain wins together in this league.
