The only thing I would say about the places he managed before was that he had to start somewhere so while I was underwhelmed when he was appointed, I wouldn't have completely dissed him .A year on of course I am dissing him ,can't see him turning it around though we will need someone that can manage despite Levy .
Your missing the point adding no context.. If we didn't drop points against lesser teams with next to fully fit squads or throw away 2 nil leads we could ride this wave.
We aren't in this position because of the Liverpool game..... We are in it because of Leicester, palace, Ipswich, Brighton,Bournemouth, Fulham games.
And falling short in Europe because we couldn't get a win against Rangers, Roma or Galatasaray.
Not one win against any of them. What planet are some of you lot on.... We have better squads than every single one of them teams even with our injuries

Totally agree. Fo me the hiring of Ange yet again goes back to just wtf are we doing at the executive level at Spurs. We hire a guy who has only had success in tin pot leagues, and we trust him to lead a rebuild at a top 6 PL club. It is insane. You can see in his interviews, there is zero tactical analysis or any acknowledgement about anything he has done wrong. His ego is ridiculous. I just want our manager to acknowledge we defended awfully in a game, and a desire to get it right in the future, but he can't do it.
Do you know why? Because this is by design what his system is. If he starts saying that we will defend better, he is by consequence saying his system isn't fit for purpose and he got it tactically wrong. That his all out attack tactics might be an issue.
So all he does, is double down on it. Any loss, any hammering, it is, this is what we do, we won't change, because that is all he has. I cannot believe more people cannot see through the bullshit.
After a 6 - 3 hammering, I want our manager to come out and say, this is disgraceful, I'll make sure this never happens again. But what does he do, he sits there and says, we scored 3 goals against them.
We scored 3 goals because Liverpool dropped off the pace, it was too easy for them.
Our FBs were too high a lot of the time, leading to being outnumbered.
This mantra of, we will play our way, is not sustainable and or working very well.
I suspect levy will continue with him until the summer, until then the aim is to consolidate mid table.

yep, you cant defend better when you play with a back 2 standing on the halfway line. to defend better would mean to completely change the system to a more balanced one....you know, something like a professional football system.

Our first was one of their players falling over and a nice finish. The other two were when they decided it was over. In between that it was us clearing it to them repeatedly for the next attack.
As soon as we did get within 2 goals, they went ‘aww cute!’ and scored another and could probably have had another 2 but their players started trying to dink the keeper.
It’s honestly amazing that people think scoring 3 = good going forward and entertaining. Not all goals are created equal. Scoring when your opponent is completely unarsed about the contest isn’t something to brag about.
This game was a brutal execution. It was, in Liews words, a serious football team built to win games up against a circus exhibition. Men vs boys, from minute one they had us by the throat.
Yes he is stubborn to the point of self-sabotage. But to accuse him of not knowing anything about football is utter nonsense.
This team has only shown glimpses of the football he's sides are known for. Yes the opposition is better, but so too are his players, and, really, the jump to the EPL is mostly about the clinical finishing. Mistakes get punished.
However he should be able to impart his *style* of play better than he has because his other sides have done it against top shelf opposition equal to any in the EPL eg Real Madrid.
Many of us have seen the *way* his other teams play, even against high quality opposition. This isn't it and I called it out even in the 10 game streak he had early on.
I watched the Liverpool game again. The contrast in player ability betwen the sides was huge. The Spurs team that was on the pitch *was* a mid-table team. A C- Grade keeper, an inexperinced makeshift back four , a midfield that can't make a simple pass or goes missing for large swathes of the game, and an aging second striker/winger supporting a mid-tier striker leading the line.
Another manager will get more out of them but its still 6-10 place squad.
He will not achieve what he is aiming for with this group of players, and really that is all that matters.

The football was fucking unwatchable. What game were these absolute dickheads watching? We got absolutely monstered. Most of the match was us pinned in our box failing at clearances.
We scored a goal through a complete fuck up and then 2 when we were already dead on the floor. And then had to watch the other team score 6 and create about 20 others while we did nothing. Salah had almost twice our full teams xG on his own. They had more than twice our shots.
What part of watching your team get dry humped for 80 out of 90 minutes is enjoyable football?
Conte btw got a 1-1 draw vs a title challenging Liverpool side at Anfield with Emerson, Sessegnon, a 3 years past his best Lloris, Dier, Davies and Hojbjerg in the team. He absolutely has a chance of getting a result.

In Contes first season I remember a 2-2 with the Dippers just before Christmas. Liverpool went into that game in fantastic form, even better than they are now.
We were more than a match for them, and it was much more entertaining than the car crash we just witnessed.

I agree especially with, your last paragraph, its a brutal statement but so true.
The difference in the clubs attitude to winning and what is acceptable is night and day.
The injuries excuse just doesn't cut it for me, yes we have them, but why leave yourself wide open like that, just what is he trying to prove.
It was the same against Chelsea. We scored two nice goals from their player slipping but in terms of actual football they made us look completely stupid. It could have been 6+ in that game too.
This is Sherwood level football we are watching at the moment.
Can we stop mentioning Conte. I want Ange gone but the fact is Conte never wanted to be at Spurs it was a mistake for both parties. The fact is Conte’s and Paratici’s summer transfer window was almost as bad as the 2019 transfer window.
The fact is the real problem is the lack of game plan or direction at the top of the club. They should have already identified Ange’s successor and done everything to get them in. Someone who looks at the game as a whole.

Conte wasn’t the right fit for Spurs.
We don’t do chequebook managers who win things.
It is however clear that Ange either doesn’t have or won’t implement a plan B.
If it’s the former, he’s toast.
If it’s the latter, he will be toast unless he changes things up.
Keep doing the same things when it’s not working/has stopped working is plain fucking stupid.
