Go for it if you like I guess.

Does any of this change the fact that there was a very easy way to convey his point that wouldn't have given the media very easy pickings?

Probably yes! But I've been following football enough to know that the media will twist every comment managers make, if he said what you said they would have found another way to twist it, it's not that deep - He's the manager who will generate the headlines at the moment because he is the story so I don't think it would have made a difference...the only difference it would have made is to some fans upset at some rival fans mocking us.

I find the level of over scrutinising whatever this manager does kinda fascinating, at this point it's just searching for pure confirmation bias, it's cool I get it you don't like him and want him gone but it's really funny seeing people upset over little things like this.

I'm not that wound up by it.

He's given an easy snippet for the media, and other fans, to have another laugh at the club, that could have been easily avoided. Whether I've read/heard the entire quote is irrelevant to the point I made, about the obvious paraphrasing that was bound to come of it.
Like when he said (prior to the city game last season) that he walks through our hallway and it's lovely but he doesn't see any trophies whilst laughing.

"Mo's a world-class player, but if you put him in our team at the moment, I'm not sure he would have the same impact because of the situation we're in as a group," said the Tottenham boss.

"He's playing in a fantastic team that are flying at the moment. I'd hazard to say that if you put Sonny [Heung-Min Son] in Liverpool's team, I reckon his goal-scoring return would be decent.

What an admittance.

You really don't get it, because neither of these things are true.

I don't dislike him, and I'm not upset.

I'd love for things to suddenly click, but I strongly doubt they will based on what we've seen over the last 14 months. I've never criticised (I don't think) anything about the man other than his performance as coach here.

Honestly, I wish I could find it within myself to be either upset or excited about anything regarding this club anymore, but really all I'm feeling right now is total apathy.

Did you not notice we have 10+ players out?
How do you play the same team every game?

You play the exact same team that wins you games 4-0. If your goalkeeper is injured you replace him like-for-like. Same with any other position.

It's not that complicated.

We were a bottom half team second half of last season too even without injuries by the way.

It's a pretty irrelevant point actually.

If he runs a player into the ground it is a seperate issue to if he replaces a player tactically after a win and then loses.

Cool bro, I put it on the list anyway.

Is any of that not true?

What’s the issue here? Manager in telling the truth shocker.

He’s not saying our team can’t get into a good place, he’s just stating the fact that it’s not in a great place atm

Isn’t that better than bullshitting everyone and pretending everything is fine?

XG can be useful in certain aspects
Like everything it has it's uses. I think as long as a team does it's own analysis of it, and decides what constitutes a good chance, then it can have a lot of value.

It's how the guys constitute what is a goal scoring chance that is often the problem.

Brighton v Wolves and 2-1 to Brighton in the dying seconds. A break for Brighton with a 4 on one (yes). The idiot managed to pass it directly to the one Wolves player that was in his half of the pitch (who went upfield and scored, 2-2 all last kick of the match). Anyway - that wouldn't have counted on XG cos no shot, whereas it shouldve been 0.95 goal because a simple pass to 3 Brighton players in the box was on.

Another issue - the time of the goals, or chances.

At City we had a better XG than them, but it was misleading. The last one the BJ tap in in the last minute was from a yard out and so probably counted 0.99. When the game was already won. Take that away and it shows how badly City fucked up their chances. And how well the likes of BD and Porro did with blocking shots.

I'm sure well run clubs have a very good way of compiling their own stats - that we don't see.

Forest probably compile their own stats. The public ones would mean that they rely heavily on scoring from the relatively few chances they create. No surprise there. It might help Nuno in the Jan window to persuade his boss to bolster the strikeforce cos if Wood or whomever gets injured then they'll suffer badly.

I'm not sticking up for Ange as it's largely his fault the players keep getting injured.
But they are injured and we seem to lose a player almost every match. So it's impossible to play the same team because the players just aren't available.

Ange in press conf about mo salah:
“His attacking play, who do you need? You need a team that's kind of in good form, creating opportunities, playing on the front foot, having a really solid foundation of a defence that is cohesive. None of these things exist at the moment."
Couldn’t really make it up!

Two things can be true at once.

Ange’s system AND lack of rotation has contributed to this injury crisis.

However, we cannot also downplay how dire it has gotten. We just finished a league game with a back line featuring Djed Spence and Archie Gray at CB and Reguilon at LB. Two of those players were banished from the squad about 6 months ago.

Ange has to go and our injury situation is also a total disaster.
Who banished them?
