Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

not sure what point youre making. Only 3 of those have been consistently available this season.

The squad is bad because

an 18 year old midfielder, who has never played at this level is NOT a suitable CB.

An 18 year old with barely 500 minutes of professional football in a tin pot league is not a suitable Central midfielder at this level.

1 striker available this season is Solanke. A mid level journeyman. Richarlison is twice the player, but never fit.

We lost Hojbjergs leadership and experience in midfield. Bissouma never stepped up, and looks like he is auditioning for Crystal Palace.

The reality is, our attack has over performed. But without a central midfield or centre backs, we cannot stop shipping goals.
And a 58 year old Aussie with no experience isn't a suitable manager at this level

So fuck off.

Perhaps he shouldn’t start fights with his own fanbase or the media?

Yep. Those comments from last night of “being asked to lose a game” have pissed me right off. Talk about twisting the narrative. Nobody has asked him to lose a single game, he’s more than capable of doing that himself. I’ve stayed away from getting annoyed at what he says but the constant baiting of the fans and now trying to perpetuate with the spursy narrative himself just isn’t on

I know that - it’s the ‘asking him to lose a game’. He’s blaming the fans again for his mistake in not understanding the rivalry.

If he’d have straight up gone: ‘I really understand it’s an awful position to be in as winning will lead to the horrific possibility of Woolwich winning, but we need to prioritise the CL as this will lead to use being better able to challenge in the future’ then, whether we agreed or not, we’d have understood and understood that he understood the history and rivalry a bit.

As it is, he made it all about himself and his ‘winning’ values and how he couldn’t believe some fans wanted to prioritise Woolwich falling to win the league. Fans don’t care so much about his opinion- we care about the club. And we show it in different ways and with different opinions. However, Ange is all about Ange and not the club (certainly any more) which we can see from where he wants to prove a point against us with the ear cupping etc..

IMO, he should be humbled and honoured to have been given the opportunity to coach us. Even Nuno who had a torrid time showed more class in his comments last weekend than Ange has done since last season.

TLDR - I know what he was referring to - he’s wrong.
Hes not too worried about winning every game now is he.

Listening to the post match interviews it seems he equates possession with success. It's as if given a choice between dominating the ball and winning the game he would rather dominate time of possession.

Even with superior possession we do fuck all with it. Passing sideways, backwards and across the middle of the pitch means nothing.

Forest scored three goals (on a questionable offside) with less than 40% possession.

It's not how long you have the ball, it's what you actually do with it when you have it.

Interesting how many comments are manoeuvring the ‘problem’ from Ange to Levy to ‘the narrative’.

The real narrative is that we’ve had a shocking season, largely because of Ange. He’s spent a lot of money (well or badly doesn’t matter, that’s a truth); he’s had much longer than anyone would expect (whether that’s Levy, he’s waiting for a third season or the Europa or whatever); there HAVEa been a lot of injuries (a lot of evidence that this might be down to Ange, or might not)….BUT the real issue right now is that we’re way down the table, can’t win a league game for love nor money, are horrifically open to counter attacks all day long and he’s not changing the instructions to players.

The narrative around our club changes depending on the success we have. Right now, we’re awful - that’s not about being ‘spursy’ or some nonsense, that’s about Ange mismanaging the in-game tactics and not being sacked when he should have been. We can argue the rest of the narrative once the team are performing like they did when Conte chucked his toys out of the pram, or Jose was sacked just before a final or Poch after the semi year.

right now, the bit of the problem that needs to be dealt with is Ange. The invisible narrative can be dealt with later.

This morning i watched Brighton, Newcastle and Wolves, and yearn for the game they play.

We have the skillset, we just do not have the vision and guidance of a manager who can deliver.

As a side note Celtic won the Jock PL by eighteen points today. How on earth can Levy see this and think that their manager a season or so ago, could walk straight into a PL club with no top draw experience and be a success.

We in all fairness are in a mess, and whatever happens in the EL, he simply has to go.

Can’t wait until ange is gone, terrible manager, constantly whining about fans and everyone else.
In interviews , on the rare occasion we win he is focused and happy to talk, when we lose, which is generally the case, he looks at the floor and is proper moody when questioned.
I hate losing myself but, this bloke is rude, touchy and just not the right level of manager we need.
Fuck off ange and mind the step on the way out.

I think because he was an unknown the idea was to get the coach ‘on the up’ as we kept on getting them as they started their downward trend (Jose, Conte arguably) but - yeh - if he was desperate to take from SPL, then just get Rodgers and be done with it.

I feel for him a little - on a personal level - never great to be sacked. However, he was given a remit which I’m sure he’s not managed to achieve it: he’ll get a nice financial package and can go and rebuild his reputation elsewhere. He’ll be set for a long time from the money and in a far better position than the many, many around the country who are dicked around by their employers but are far more competent at their jobs.

In fact, thinking about it, he’s not done well at his job at all and should expect to be sacked. End of.

Lange spots a couple of prospects for next season.
