Ange has reeled me back in! If we win Europa I'll want him to stay.

How cold would it be if he actually wins a trophy on his second season? He's been mocked and laughed at all season by everyone in the football world for saying that. Wow it would be cold!
I'm in the same camp now.

The main factor for me is that 1) he - clearly - has the trust of the players, and that 2) it has been a freak season when it comes to injuries. The stats for us when having our main back 4 is solid, and 3) he shows now that he can adjust and adapt.

I don't want us to start from scratch again, given these factors

Anyone changing their mind on a Premier league coach because of the way we played over two legs against Bodo Glimt is fundamentally not using their head.

Which is fine, football is irrational. But recognise the irrationality. We have fully focused the EL and beaten teams we should be beating. That isn’t a managerial accomplishment.

That lot were terrible. They would be lucky to be anywhere near a championship play off place.

Thing is, Ange can clearly see that this more pragmatic and restrained approach gets results... but he's simply been too stubborn to have ever really given it a go throughout the entire PL season, even as it went to shit.

He chose to die on the Angeball hill, putting his ego above the best interests of the club, and for that reason he can't be trusted next season and has to go.

Credit where it's due, he's got the tactics in the last 5 Europa games about spot on. I was honestly worried about Bodo, an obvious banana skin, but with sensible tactics and the players properly focussed, the whole tie was made to look a piece of piss.

Makes you wonder what could've been achieved domestically, because injuries or not, the likes of 1 point from Leicester is a disgrace.
That kind of football leads to 5-7 place.
Angeball, if it works, can win the league.

My big worry for the final is that he's going to drop this new more pragmatic system in favour of going back to full on Angeball.

My hope is that he finds a way to combine the two. Start the game playing classic Angeball and then drop back into the more pragmatic system for a bit.

Or the other way round.

Be solid for the first 20 to avoid conceding early then gradually open up. If we score then play a balance between attack and defence.

Leicester are many levels more talented than Bodo Glimt.

Exactly.

He's shitting on people and accusing them of diminishing his achievements in the EL, but he's the one massively embellishing it like he's taken Azerbaijan to the World Cup final after smashing France, Brazil, England, Spain and Argentina. Get real, pal.

He's sacrificed the PL weeks ago to do well in the EL in order to save his own ass and keep his fat wage a bit longer. He ain't happy for us fans or even his players, just for his salary, rep & mad ego.
You are one boring cunt you

Did you see the post presser with Ange?"
Have a listen to what he says then maybe you will comprehend a bit better than you are doing now!

I like Ange. Always have. And I obviously hope he wins us this trophy. For us. For him. I'd love him to be able to smug it up to all the haters he's had from day one.

He will go in the summer though. There are too many now who will turn everything back toxic the moment something goes wrong next season.

Win the trophy. Then go with his head held high. And we can have someone new to direct our agendas to.

It’s a strange situation to be in.

Will we sack him if he brings us glory? Even for Levy, that would be harsh.

Will he walk if he wins and struts out the place saying I told you so? This is also a big possibility because he’s clever enough to know that his stock would be high. He won’t change how we play. We won’t suddenly turn into the pragmatic Tottenham we saw in Bodo and Frankfurt in the league.

Will he want a crack at champions league if we win the Europa? 100% he will and for me this is the likely outcome and come October if he doesn’t change then it will be curtains.

If we lose he’s gone no matter what anyone thinks.

My feelings on it are that we can’t be where we are in the league. It’s embarrassing and our club should never be in that position. For that I think it’s better that he does go but Ange could give the majority of us our best night supporting this club in 12 days time.

We are one game away from the most disastrous season in about 50 years or a glory night we’ll talk about till we die.

Football is nuts.

I can't work out for the life of me why he hasn't taken the same approach to the PL. Why did he insist on a high press, high possession approach when, for one reason or another, it wasn't working? Showing that he can be pragmatic makes his PL performances look even worse. We would not be in the diabolical position we've found ourselves in if he'd played a more intelligent game.

But credit to him for getting us to the EL final. I did say we win this in spite of him. I take that back; he's right, it is a different competition to the PL. If we win it, we win it with him and he gets my respect for his help in this competition because we need this trophy after years of fuck all.

And then I hope he leaves smiling and we get someone in who can push our players to their full potential.
